haha be glad...im paying a little under $110 for my oil changes, Go Motul 300V baby....mostly price of the oil though

-x2 on buying the ramps and oil pan, they will come in handy for a million more things than just an oil change (well ok maybe not a million persay)

Of course, if you do it yourself you have to also take the oil someplace to dispose of it. I feel guilty taking it to an oil change place if I didn't have my oil change there, so I haven't changed my own oil now in years.

I just do it at the Nissan across the street from work for about $33 for conventional oil.

"Some place" like your local Kragen/Schucks, Pep Boys, Autozone, Napa, etc? Most of those places don't even do any type of service, but will still happily take your used oil. If you buy your oil from them, then you shouldn't feel any guilt at all.

Stealership Oil Change Prices....?

I don't think $46 is too outrageous for a change with Mobil 1, just don't let
them wash your car....that could be more costly.

Go buy some then. The $46 you spent would have almost covered all the tools you would need. Ramps - $30, basic set of metric sockets and wrench - $30, drain pan $5.

Disposing of used oil at most major auto parts chain stores - FREE.

that's actually not a bad price for full synthetic. you can still save a little $$$ if you do it yourself. The only thing you might have a problem with if you have never done it is getting the oil filter out. is a little out of reach and not a lot of room to maneuver in there. If you buy your tools, oil catcher, wrench and socket, ramps, etc, you will spend some dough initially, you won't see the savings probably until the 3rd oil change if you have to buy all the tools. still very easy to do.
