06 G35 or 07 G35..help?

I have been looking for a while for an 06/07 AT and I like the Lakeshore Slate color..I found 2 that I would like your input on the pro's/con's of each..

06: $22,690, 28,500 milesPrem package, Nav, Sport package, Aero package...located in Chicago and willing to keep it at their storage facility free until I get back from my deployment in Apr..about $600 to ship or I could fly from VA to IL and drive it back.

07: $22,990, 11,000 miles, Prem package and it has a spoiler so I am not sure if it has the Aero package or just the spoiler...not sure if the spoiler could have been added as a stand alone option..located in Atlanta, have not talked to them yet to see if I can get them down on the price nor what shipping would be...

They are close enough in price to call it the same; it will come down to what is more important-the added on options on the 06 or the newer, less mileage and less options for the 07...

Input appreciated!

I have an 07 Lakeshore so obviously I like your color choice.
Why not wait until you return from your deployment? Prices surely will drop between now and then.
That said I usually favor newer cars over older, lower mileage over higher. And the warranty on the 07 has a year more to go.

LOL..my wife says the same thing about waiting until I get back but while I am in Bahrain I can research them...plus if I get it now that is one less thing I have to do when I get back..and I can start paying off the loan while I am making the extra money.

And the 07 I was looking at sold already but I found another 06 with 19700 miles for $21,900...18's, Bose, sunroof....also in Atlanta....hmmm

just wait until you get back, right now your getting real anxious and just wanna buy something. Thats the way i was when i was out there, so much money in your bank and not sure what do with it, especially being bored out there.
your mind might change when you get back, since you might see another car on the road that gets your attention way more than the G. So you should just hold off.

I would just wait as well. With the economy the way it is there is a huge # of cars being repo'd and you wont have a problem finding exactly what you want. Patience is a virtue that will save you thousands by the time you are out. Depreciation is inevitable.

I understand about waiting and the prices falling; with that said I have watched interest rates start to climb 1/4 pt here and there..plus I don't want to have my time taken up shoping for cars when I am home...I don't mind paying a little more now as my time is more important...which I have plenty of!

I have had mustangs so I am out of that stage and I looked at corvettes and mustang convertible before I left and am happy with the G35's...I almost bought the G37 coupe when it first came out after my last deployment, put a grand deposit down and when it came in I did not fit in it nor did it look as good in person as it did in the pictures.

I also get ready to pull the trigger when buying toys.
What he said +1,000. Leaves you more $$$$ for mods. And that my friend is a necessity around here.

whats up GJ? glad to see another virginia beach guy looking for a G.

i just got my 07 a month or so ago - wouldn't trade it for anything. i paid quite a bit more then some of the prices you've said...so as long as you feel comfortable with the quality of what you're getting - prices sound good.

no way i would of bought anything but an 07. i just figure if you're going to spend that much, buy the most you can/newest option for a longer roi. still not a fan of the g37s...so an 07 g35 loaded up was my only option.

good luck with whatever you get man! we need to meet up when you get back.

my wife works at CarMax - so i only deal with them. just don't trust anyone else.

fully loaded 07 with 20k miles was "stickered" around $30k. but this was back in early Sept...i've already seen them drop up to $2k in some places considering the recent market.

They are cheaper than that....I am sure with your wife working there you were able to get a discount..bad part is you can't negotiate with Carmax...

^ yep, discount. and you are correct - "no haggle" prices.

but, the trade off is i know 100% the quality of product i'm getting. guess it just comes down to what you're more comfortable with/what's more important to you.

i'm super bias of course.

Understand the bias...and if I could get the dicsount at somewhere like Carmax I would take advantage of it also..

As I look at cars I check to ensure they are low mileage and have good Carfax's, but take Carfax with a grain of salt as that system is only as good as the info put into it...
