I changed the oil ~1500 miles ago and checked it the first couple of weeks, but since the PO had said the engine didn't burn any oil, I didn't worry about it and stopped checking regularly (I know, first mistake right there). Any ways, the other day, my engine starts making strange mechanical knock noises upon deceleration, so I checked the oil. There was nothing on the dripstick. Three quarts later, I'm back in the "good" zone on the dipstick. I waited overnight for the oil to drain between each quart just to make sure. Bottom line, I burnt 3 quarts in 1500-1600 miles. I set my tripodometer B when I did the oil change, so I have how many miles it has been, and I also have the receipts for the original oil when I did the change and the oil I bought this past week to make up for what was burnt. Think it will happen? I'll be going to the Infiniti Dealership in Indianapolis. Have any of you guys dealt with them before? Pretty nice guys? Is there something else I should bring?
