Waiting for my order to go through

I've been looking for a new coupe to replace my 91Z, easy choice to make with the new G-coupe. Went to my local dealer last month (Virginia) and was told I would be put on the March order. Called last week to verify, salesman told me it was good to go. Asked for the order number and was put on hold for 10 minutes. Turns out the dealer was over his limit on orders, now I'm stuck waiting another month just for the order to go through in April. Add another 3 months and I'm looking at July for delivery.

My order was Silver/Graphite/6MT/Prem/Nav.

For those who have coupes already, how has the tire wear been for the OEM tires. I've found in the past that Nissan's OEM tires wear out pretty fast. How about the Brembo brakes and wear on those? Cost for pad replacement?

I haven't done battle over the price yet. Any suggestions for getting a little off MSRP?

Sucks about the waitThe tires on the G are 18" Michelon Pilot Sports- Summer tires......it all depends on how you use them of course.
They can last as little as 10,000 if you drive hard all the time tire pressure also plays a roll here
If all is well and you drive normal, i cant see how they wouldnt last you at least 30,000 miles

Nobody has that many miles yet to prove it though.

Good luck with the wait haha
I've been waiting since November 4th for the 6spd.....still another month or so until my G arrives though

Re: Waiting for my order to go through

I take it pretty easy on the tires. I've had 40K on the Potenza's on my Z before replacing them. It's only 7 miles to work so I don't put on a lot of miles per year.

Nov order, May arrival. Sounds about the same timeline (6 months).
Have fun with your new car!

Did some checking on the corporate site...take a plane ride and your exact vehicle is sitting on these guy's lot (unless somebody beats ya to it):

Infiniti Of Willow Grove
1510 Easton Rd
Willow Grove, PA 19090
tel (215) 784-9320
fax (215) 784-9260

I used the Infiniti.com site to search dealer inventory...found the exact car I wanted 25 miles away, got it that day. I couldn't have made it 6 months

Re: Waiting for my order to go through

Thanks Zeebra.

I e-mailed Willow Grove to see if it is still available. Unfortunately the Infiniti.com website only lets me search out to 150 miles. I can reach from the DC area to Raleigh, NC.

Hopefully it is still there.

Yeah, I ran into that problem too...then I just started picking a big metro area (Atlanta, Dallas, etc) as my starting point to check 150 miles from there. Good luck, dude!

Re: Waiting for my order to go through

The website really works. I ordered from an honest dealer who told me he had a 2 month backlog on orders after searching in vain for the car for 2 months. I started checking the website 2x a day and found and bought the exact car I was looking for one week later (the dealer I originally ordered from promptly returned my deposit).

I suggest trying to put a deposit down on the car with a credit card after you call and find it. I lost the first car I found on the internet by about 10 minutes, but got the second one by giving the dealer my credit card number and then picking the car up after work. Good luck.
