Auto Issue - At Check Light

Hi all,

Weird thing happened. My wife was driving (that is not the root cause) the G35 and the tranny slipped from a take off. It was going up a moderate hill. The At-check light came on. (35 K miles on the odometer)

She pulled over about a mile down the road. Shut the car off and restarted. Everything ran fine.

The fluid was low, so I put almost one full quart in. Did not smell burnt.

The nissan guy at the stealership told me that low fluid could not be the issue. I beg to differ. Anyone know otherwise? I have put about 150 miles on since the check and no issues or abnormalities. I am thinking to go have it serviced anyway.

Transmission fluid is the main reason the automatic transmission can deliver torque to the wheels. If you do not have any pressure then you are not going to go anywhere.

Transmission fluid level is always checked when the car is running so the fluid is hot. You check the fluid level to make sure it is between the lines on the hot markers.

Also remember transmission fluid is be changed about every 50k miles to ensure the transmission is operating properly.
