having the dinky donut is ok, but the jack is a killer..it sure is hard to get under the frame, I bloodied up my knuckles a few times hitting the pavement while trying to turn that damn jack..lucky I didn't get the aero kit..what happens then? that jack would never fit under the car.

why is everyone having trouble with the jack. i thought it was pretty simple. slide jack under car and turn. u have to put the rod in the hole to turn it. and it grabs the frame very easily. as for the spare. they put the dinky donut in there to save weight? yet theres some people talkin about keeping a floor jack in their trunk that weighs more than one of our normal size wheels. F the dinky donut. i want a full size. i dont trust the donut. i thought i was gonna die when i had it on my car...and when the h3ll am i gonna keep 2 golf bags in my trunk? wtf? thats what they're concerned about? ok im done...

^^^Because a full-sized spare is a permanent replacement. My friend blew a tire on his TL and he just put the other one on for good since all 4 are the same size.

Since they are staggered, your gonna need a new tire anyway. it's gonna be temporary whether your running 2 front, 1 rear and a donut, or 3 fronts and 1 rear. So why would they give you a full-sized tire. It would make absolutely no sense to. It would be more expensive on both ends for the same temp. fix, and not to mention that you need to include the proper rim size 17", 19".

Ah, this is one reason having a sedan with a full sized alloy wheel spare is nice. Hopefully I will never have to use it, but it's there if I need it.

The bolt I was referring to is not on the spare tire, It should be on your front rotors.......Its an 8mm bolt and sleeve type spacer. They put them on so you can not put the rear tires on the front. The front OEM rims have a space that allows the rim to sit flush. If you were to try and put the rear on, it would not sit flush....

Now, if you look at the back of the spare, there may be a slot for that bolt to fit properly. Thats all I can think of.

my spare worked fine... it's actually the funniest looking spare i've ever seen since its only 185 mm wide but the metal part sticks further out than the tires due to clearence for the brembos.

Kinda unbelievable, maybe OP did something wrong? I don't think ppl that can design a well running car can not design a donut that fit for the car. But does make me want to try the donut on my next oil change! =)

Dang. Sometimes it seems like ppl jump on the forum before they even call Infiniti, lol. Thats respect right there. Infiniti would have been quicker though. I remember my encounter with that spacer and bolt. I had just gotten my wheels and I put the back on first. When i went to mount the front, I felt SOOOOOOOOOOOOO used. I remember thinking how it was too good to be true when I first got my wheels and now they dont fit. I actually decided to take the bolt off without even having knowledge of what it was for, lol. I think it also helps keep your rotor snug but that doesnt matter as long as you tighten your lug nutz. Glad to see I didnt take off something that was THAT important. I drove paranoid for a few days though, lol.
