No Throttle
This past weekend I drove on a local auto cross course. Its the first time I have pushed the car really hard, and on the way home I had a problem.
Driving on the highway my slip, vdc and service engine soon lights all came on and the car wouldnt respond when I would give it gas. I coasted to the side and shut down the car and started up. About 1/4 mile later it did the same thing. I shut it down one more time and started and it has ran fine since, but the service engine light has stayed on.
Anyone have any idea what it could have been? All my fluids are fine and changed the oil about 2000 miles ago.

It only happened a couple of times in the space of 2 minutes, Im pretty sure its not mechanical.
It wasn't responding when I would push down on the gas pedal. No revs at all. It was like the computer shut down.
Like I said though after shutting it down and starting again it ran fine on the second attempt...
I'm just not sure if it was because it wasn't used to being pushed hard...
I'm going to reset the code tonight and see if it comes back up in the next couple of days...

It shouldn't happen to be honest... My room mate also has an auto and his didn't have any problem...
There was another G a 6mt, but I still got a better time than him... Not to brag or anything... :P
It was my first auto cross, but had a blast and took home 1st in my class... Not much competition really, but beat a Cobra...

I had this exact problem, it was a throttle position sensor - they had to change my whole throttle body. If you can get a TB yourself you can save yourself quite some money instead of being charged ~600 for parts + labor. (I believe Infiniti charges your at least 2 hr labor to change a TB even though I or anyone can do it in 30 min or less).

thank god I located this problem, Im on a bet with my friend he has this same stupid problem... took it to the dealer, they changed the throttle pedal sensor, and the throttle body... and still the problem is happening... the car isn't under warranty so he paid a **** LOAD!!!
I promised him to get him an answer off the internet seeking someone who actually faced this... how can the problem happen again if we replaced all of those parts? why did it happen again? and how can I be 10000% sure it won't rehappen if I install another throttle body?!?! cause he already did that... could it be that the company installed one of the old throttle bodies that still had the problem?!
Thanks

My wife's Altima did something similar this weekend, except the battery and brake light would come on intermittently. Turns out it was an intermittent problem with the voltage regulator on the alternator. Does the G have a battery light? It would make sense that this would come on rather than the CEL, but I can not remeber if the car has a battery light and I am not home so I can't go look. I have no idea why the brake light came on, but they always did together. Carry a volt meter with you and the next time it happens check the voltage on the alternator before you shut it down again.
