The west coast only has 91, and maybe 93 but that is VERY rare. I've never actually seen 93. We have some gas stations with 100, but that is rare too. It's only at a select few gas station's and mainly used for track days.

I'm not saying it's OK to put regular in the car, and they should have done a search, but at least the OP actually has a G rather than just coming on here and trying to make people feel stupid with inaccurate statements.

I was just about to say that. A car is never an investment unless its like super rare and it only gets more valuable with time. Otherwise its a big a** expense.

Mr. ****, party of 1...

I've owned vettes, mustangs, acuras, blah blah blah...I've always put 87 octane in all my cars, always, and I've never had any problems, ever....

Premium is just a waste of money.

^^^^ i disagree with with you on that. one way to really tell is put 87 and prem. on a dyno and see what the results will be.

also you say prem. is a waste but you put 97!

i know you meant 87 but wanted to correct you on the 97 part.

LOL...yeah...waste of money...I wouldn't think it would be a problem for you to spend 10 to 20 CENTS more per gallon for a better performing fuel Mr. "vette, Mustang, Acura, and blah, blah, blah" owner!

BTW...what brands are the "blah, blah, blah"? What? they're not that important to mention?

You go put 87...Like you please...did you miss the last part of my post???

"Not telling you to do that...this is just a personal choice!" Geez!

93 all the way baby, nothing but the best for my G...
if you're gonna spend this much on the car, might as well shell out an extra couple bucks at fill-up, anything otherwise is just being foolish IMO.

Oh please, no stick here. You posted a sarcastic response, hence my reply. Not sure what you expected. That said, it's possible I misunderstood what was going. It's the internets, so sorry if that I misinterpreted your replly
I have detonation problems on most pump 91. I'm sorry if that pisses you off. We've worked with tune, to no avail. I used the verb hate to describe my cars reaction (i.e. detonation) I was curious to see if others experience the same issues since the thread seems to be about octane

I think you can realistically argue that if, based on how you drive, you get no additional benefit from the higher octane engine, why spend the money?

And if you are going to take the time to post, isn't it worth correct spelling?

deffinately premium i live in louisville ky n almost all stations have 92 n some have 93 n ive never put less than 92 in my g and never will espically now since gas here is around 1.50 per gallon now i never thought i would c the day again when gas went under 2.00 i even fill my f250 up with premium sometimes just cuz its so cheap now plus the way i c it if your going to buy a luxury performance car like a g y are you going to b cheap and put low grade gas in it

the farther you go north the higher octane you need for the proper f/a mix. at least that's what i was told by my mechanic. unless "race" fuel is needed for a heavily mod'd car. 91 oct is fine if you live in the south to south east where it warmer here and the humidity is usually higher. believe me i've tried to find higher oct but that's all the higher i can find... infiniti said 91oct is was perfect for the g in my area (kansas). hope this helps... btw last week 1.59 for premium

This post is useless.
We are arguing over what gas should go in a G35.
Bottom line is, premium should be used. Your not driving a fuel efficient Toyota or something.

If you couldn't afford the gas, like some have said invest in another car.
