Stolen

No, no, no, not my ride. A very minor thing, but still annoying....my chrome valve stem caps. Some 'nasty' stole 'em. I know that they don't cost much, but the fact that someone actually took 'em annoys the hell outta me. I mean, do people actually go around checking out for valve stem caps? Hmm...maybe the individual(s) were drawn to the G.

;-)

Well, what goes around, comes around....you take from someone, someone will take from you.

Re: Stolen

Man, don't give me a heart attack over some damn valve stems caps !

j/k - I'm following Redwillow's DIY and adding a shock/impact sensor to the factory alarm this week. https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...sed&sb=5&part=

Perhaps you should consider it as well before something else disappears.

Re: Stolen

I know, my bad, my bad...not necessarily the most "informative" subject line, right?

;-)

All the same, anything removed from our rides (without our acknowledgement) is a violation of our God-given G rights...and the individual(s) should be tortured!!

Okay, maybe that's a bit extreme...especially over chrome valve stem caps.

;-P

Here are my theft-proof chromies. I've had them for 1.5 years in Newark, NJ.

Re: Stolen

having your valve caps stolen is very, very common. that's why i never bought them. actually to have them and not have them stolen is rare unless you have the theft-proof caps which are pretty cool. i would think they can be a pain though since they require a special "key".

Re: Stolen

Now look for some kids in your neighborhood that like to ride their bikes around. Stop them and do a search on their tires to see if they have your caps! If not and they have Dice valve caps, take them and put them on your car. SCORE!

- Don't argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.=P-

Re: Stolen

Grubbs sells the theft-proof caps. You do require a special key. It's not that bad of a pain in the neck. I check my tire pressure once a month. I keep it in a secure location in the car at all times.

Re: Stolen

True, true...there are some kids who roll around on their bikes. Hmmm, interesting suggestion, RaySur350GT.

Re: Stolen

call me lazy, but having to look for the key whenever i want to pump some air in the tires wouldn't work for me---i lose everything. now that i'm thinking about it, i better check to see where i put the key for the wheel-locks. i don't recall where i put them!!! : )

on the same token, i went out and bought one of them portable power supplies with jumper cables and air pump. so, i don't have to go to the local gas station to pump up my tires when the air is low. the best thing ever!!!! and if there's a blackout, i have a back-up power source--not much power but enough for powering lights or a small tv!!! : )

Re: Stolen

PS I lov emy shock sensor but the thing is NOT going to go off is someone gently unscrews the valve stem covers. If you park outside like I do then your sensitivity will have to allow for the cat and the occasional thunderclap w/o going off so no way my setup would stop this - that why I go with the rubber ones. The sensor should really only go of if a metal object vibrates the chassis of the car - like crowbars and screwdrivers banging on the body when the light thieves come steal your zenons for thier cavalier or sentra.
