Rust problems!

Got some rust on my wheels... Anyone know how to get rid of this crud? Friend said it was going to be impossible, but I'm hoping thats not the case.

Any help is appreciated.

damn! I was hoping not to sand it... when I'm painting, is there a specific color or do I need to go by the nearest match @ the "paint store"?

also, is rust able to spread? meaning do I need to solve this problem ASAP before it gets out of hand?

and, does it look like it's affecting the integrity of the wheels? (The rust is on all 4 wheels and are in each "groove" that you see in the pics)

When was the last time if ever that you changed your rotors? If your going to change you brakes soon just leave them. But if your going to paint them I would get Hi Temp paint. Your brakes and rotors get real hot after driving around. The hi temp paint will be able to handle the heat.

Yea, that's rust on your rotors not wheels. I paint my rotors every time I
take my wheels off, maybe twice a year. Go to Pep Boys and buy engine
paint (semi-gloss black) a little blue tape and some newspaper and you've
got yourself an afternoon project. Now would be a good time to clean up
those wheels too, inside and out. Enjoy....
