Finally Got My Subs But....

Hey guys Ive been searching around for subs for the longest time and i got a great deal on my 2 10" Type R's that a friend of mine was selling but the only problem is the box barely fits in my trunk..I was wondering if this ebay box was any good and would provide enough breathing room for them soo they don't pop?? if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated and now for the pics..

Ebay Box

My subs: sorry for the crappy sidekick camera quality
The box would only fit in my trunk if it was on its back..

The boxes look good to me from a glance. Nice install and such. However, if I were you I'd be sure to get a sealed box. They're cheaper, sound better with the limited volume of the box you have, and aren't as 'boomy' so you won't sound like some punk who's trying to wake the neighborhood. They'll also give you a nice tight bass response which is good if you're looking for quality sound (which it seems like you are) not just being loud.

4080 box FTMFW!!! See if you can get a 4080 box maybe even 2, off someone in the classifieds. They'll take up the least amount of space, and are engineered pretty well in terms of dimensions. The big wood box that looks like it might have just been slapped together might negatively impact the sound due to improper air space in the box. +1 for Type Rs though, my boy has a 12 in his 330i and that thing knocks. Hope this helps!

Box volume and shape, not to mention being ported/sealed/bandpass has a LOT to do with how it sounds in the end.

Yeah idk my boy that owns a shop told me that if the box is too small for the sub when the sub hits it can cause the sub to pop...and one 4080 is more than what i paid for both subs and a 2000watt amp hahah

that is SOME BS, i had 2 12' kickers in a box that my friend made of some fiberboard, real cheap build... those things were 800 watts rms 1200 peak.. they never "popped" so ur boy needs to chill on the sound system expertise lol
