YEAYY GOT MY G35!! - Got some questions..
I got my 05 G35c 6spd, black on black and only 24k miles!! I'm loving it but it needs some maintaining.
My car should still be under warranty so which one of these things should pass for warranty?
1. Got lots of swirl marks, I think claybar and wax should get rid of this?
2. Front Rotor are warpped and rear brakes are need to be replaced, any recommendation on which brakes to get and rotors? I've always put Bendix brakes on my other cars. With only 24k miles, isn't it too early for warpped rotors? I had an Acura TL and that was a very common problem and was getting fixed through warranty... Would this get fixed through warranty?
3. Compared to other manual cars i've driven/had, the gears go in a little hard, but it might just be the car. From reading some threads, it could be the tranny or diff fluid right?
4. Could be a big problem: I just got the car today and checked the oil (I drove it for about 10-15 miles and then the car was sitting for about 10-15 mins) and when I took the dip stick out, there was a line that went all the way across, the reading isn't coming out fine. I did this like 3 times and a line is going across the stick all three times, and theres just a drop of oil at the end of the stick. Am I super low on oil or is because I was driving the car around and didn't wait long enough? I hope I dont have OC issues. I'm going to get the oil changed tomorrow.
5. Radio - The button to change the track up gets stuck and keeps going to the next track until i push it again and it goes back to normal, pushing the track down button is fine. This should be covered under warranty also right?
Thanks!!
This forum is my new home, haha. I will post pics of the car once I clean her up and everything.

Congrats on the new car and welcome. Here are my thoughts.
1. No, clay and wax will not remove swirl marks. You need to get a good polish with a slightly abrasive wheel. Search the detailing sections and you will find tons of tips.
2. This is often times misdiagnosed. While it is possible to have warped rotors, it is not likely. Even if your car was driven really hard, the rotors are not likely to warp unless they were suddenly cooled (i.e. water was sprayed on them). The OE pads will cook before the rotors warp from hard driving. The feeling of warped rotors is 9 times out of 10 caused by uneven pad material transfer to the rotors. This happens easily if the pads get hot and the vehicle comes to a stop with the brakes held (sometimes you can see an imprint of the pad on the rotor). I would recommend doing about 4 hard stops (close to ABS activation) from 60 to a near stop. Do not come to a complete stop however. This should clean the rotors and set up a new layer of pad material on the rotors (referred to as a tribolayer). If you feel it improving between stops, then it is working. Let the brakes cool shortly and then do it a couple more times. The rotors should have a slight blue/gray color to them, not shiney metal. If it turns out they are warped, take it in for warranty and do not let them give you that "it's your fault" crap.
3. Hard to say without driving it. It is normal for the shifter on these cars to require a bit of effort to engage. Diff fluid has nothing to do with shifter effort though.
4. I am not quite following what you are saying here, but you need to let the car sit about 30mins before checking the oil. I can usually get a good reading when I check the oil in my car. If you can not, put in just a little and check it again. If you see more than just the drop on the tip, then you are obviously low and may have the OC issue.
5. Warranty will cover this.

Start your oil consumption test now. If you have it, you get a free engine
do it before your warranty runs out (6 yr/70,000ml.)
also, your basic warranty is 4yr/60,000ml so idk if your CD changer is coverd.
If you want to talk about detailing PM me. To get out the swirl marks are you suggest, you will need a dual action polisher or a rotary buffer. Wax may HIDE some swirl marks, but not remove them like a polisher would. If you don't know anything about this, get your car detailed, and then learn how to wash it properly to prevent swirl marks. Like I said, if you need help PM me.
BTW for brakes, Hawk HPS pads are pretty popular for the G35.

Wow thanks a lot for the help man!!
I checked my oil this morning and it is super low, only oil on the end of the stick were it has a twist.
I am going to call infiniti to see if I still have basic warranty and what kind of oil was put in this car if they have it on file. I have to just straight up change the oil today because I can't add if I don't know what it is (conv. or synthetic).
Anyway, I'm going to call infiniti right now and see what they can do.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYONE THAT REPLIED, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!

Also I'll look into the pads.

Don't change the oil yourself.....well what I mean is Infinity will do it as part of the consumption test. I would reccommend taking the car asap to get you on file and make sure they register the car with you as the owner. Assuming they are an ok dealer they should know about the OC issues and when they do a consumption test they do an oil change and cover it. at least thats what they did for me. If you do do it yourself make sure you always keep reciepts. I myself will go to infinity for oil changes until the warranty is up so they dont bull**** about me not taking care of it should the issue arise.

You should check out the Marketplace here on driver, those pads on a real big sale right now from our vendors. In fact everything is pretty much on an end of the year sale, so head over to the marketplace and see what you want. It's also really easy to find some lightly used Skyline badges and clear corners if you want those too for a much cheaper price than new.EDIT: Yea do what he said ^^^^^ Infiniti is gonna fill up your oil anyway for the Oil Consumption test, and that way they can't give you **** for doing it yourself.
i agree with the hawks pads, I've had them on most of my cars.
My radio button also sticks (when pressing up) I am going to take it in to the dealer w/in a month or so. it is also an 05 6spd w/27K miles.
And i beleive that the shift is usually rough in our cars. at least mine is, especially 2nd gear
How much did you pay for yours if you don't mind me asking?
