Mine was a custom order (had to wait 3 and half months for it) and the deposit was fully refundable. Any other type of a deal is just plain horse$hit - take your business to a different dealer.

prior to my purchasing the g, i was going to buy a bmw 325 wagon (alas, they don't make it in the 330). however, i didn't want it the typical way.
i wanted rwd, leather, xenon, MT, and one or two other things. rarely does anyone or the wagon as an MT. so they wrote on order, nonrefundable deposit. however, they said it would take 8 wks, they later said 12. at 12, that was when the 04's would be out. so i looked at g and changed my mind. they gave full refund, though i waited a couple of weeks.

the day i gave them the check, they deposited it.
