$130 per month with AllState 27 yrs old and in SoCal. 100/300/100 policy

 

$900/yr in Charlotte, NC. I was paying $2200 when I first moved here from Chicago (driving a S-10 and then an Accord), and then that same company tried to raise to $2600 even though my record did not change. I bought the G and I switched to Allstate and it went down to $900/yr.

 

25 years old $1250 per year. full coverage, $300 deductable.

I use NJM but there alot of variables that go into my rate being so low for being so young and being in NJ.

a) I have no moving violations on my record...ever.
b) I got my license before the "probationary 2 points" started
c) My credit score is so close to perfect (last it was checked I was in the 790's, before I bought the G)
d) My parents insure all of their cars (5) on NJM, when I applied for my own policy, this greatly helped
e) I'm now part of the NJ "safe drivers" tier, which dropped my insurance from 2100 to 1600

how the hell do you get a 790 score at your age? i payed my credit card bills in full each month for the past 2 years and im barely 700.

For everyone who is stating "full coverage" - That term is way to broad, and means many different things to different people.

It is impossible to compare premium and coverage with someone who doesnt live in the same territory as you. Premium and coverage options vary from zip code to zip code and are drastically different from state to state.

The most impotant items are:

1) Limit of Liability
2) Physical damage deductible
3) Ancillary coverages such as full glass, rental reimbursement, Uninsured motorists...etc...
4) A financially solid A.M. Best rated "A" or better carrier.

-I have a $500,000 limit of liability
and every coverage available at it highest limit.
-$500 Physical damage deductibles w/full glass

I'm 24 in maryland, I was paying $1600 a year for full coverage with traverlers. I've been in 4 accidents with my previous car none of which were my fault, 3 happend in parking lots when I wasn't even moving, I wasn't even in the car for 2 of them. I got a 1 point speeding ticket about 2 months ago for going 10 mph over, now the only point on my record, and I just recieved a certified letter last week saying my insurance was going up 25%! Traverlers is still, by far, the cheapest insurance co. for me though. I've checked with about about 5 different insurance companies gieco, state farm, liberty mutual, and 2 others and the second lowest quote I got was over $3000 / yr, the highest was around $5000 / yr and that was before I got the ticket!

The funny thing is calling these phone reps for insurance companies, getting a quote and telling them thats double what I pay and still seeing them try to sell me their insurance. The lesson here is there is little logic that goes into insurance calculations. It's all based on statistics computed individually by the different companies so you really do just have to call for yourself to find out who's gonna give you the best price.

I think the G35 helped my credit cuz ive been paying for it.. I just got an American Express Card last week and they gave me a $5k Limit.. I was like DAMN, im 18, and i can get that! All my friends got $300 limit capitalone cards.lol
