Clutch Throw V. S2000
Clutch Throw V. S2000
Ok for all you that have driven Both cars, and the few that are lucky to have both cause I know there are some out there. How does the clutch ant the throw feel in the 35c as compared to the S2000? I ordered my coupe without ever driving a maunal one cause they arent avaliable.
Havent even felt the throw in a g35c unfortunatly. I know its gotta be smooth and short but nedd something to compare it too and since the S2k is the closest I've got I wanna know what the differences are. Thanx In advance

They are both great! But definitely different. The s2000's location makes it HAVE to be really short or else it would feel akward. The both are pretty notchy, although perhaps the G's is a bit more. The cluth on the S2000 is a bit softer, the G's a bit heavier. SO my conclusion is both are very good - but different.

Re: Clutch Throw V. S2000
i havent driven the S2000 but i can tel you that the G's box is very notchy, often people call it a "bolt-action" shifter,
clutch feels really good to me, definitely heavier than any honda i've driven, (havent driven s2000 tho) but definitely a tad lighter than the Audi 2.8 a4, i'd say its comparable to any 3-series/z3 bmw

I can't tell u too much cuz I haven't broken it in and can't push it too hard yet, but I can tell u it engages really early and wants to be pushed... i can't wait till after the break in period.

My dealer did not have a manual coupe that I could drive, but I did drive the 6MT sedan (with 20 less horsepower). I don't know how it compares to the S2000, but give it a try. It should be a close comparison to the coupe.
I ordered a 6MT coupe after driving the auto coupe and tried the sedan 6MT just just because I couldn't on the coupe.

I agree with VNT...softer and shorter. Last weekend I let my girlfriend drive both my G and S (she has a manual Jeep Wrangler) and she noted the difference too. She also said she felt more comfortable with the gear throw distances on the G...the simple wrist flick shifting on the S felt weird to her (but I love it). In both cases, however, she had some trouble keeping close to the speed limit (usually running 15-20 over) saying, "these babies really want to run!"
