I dont know what my head was thinkin of bringing my G on the mountains, Big Bear Mountains in SoCal.
Going up wasn't snowing(11am), going down it was snowing like crazy(3pm).
The first 15 mins were able to have a little traction by only going 15mph, and I fishtail most of the time. 10mph I was 4th gear. 15 mph I was on 5th gear.
People around were thinkin of me like crazy. They don't wanna get close to me.
The worst part is going uphill.
Theres no way I can past through that so I was stuck on the hill.
But luckily my bro in his H2 were able to get me tire chains, after going to 4 different stores.
With our stock 19 size tires(245-40-19), not many stores have em.
Even the guy at the store that has it even said, "Wow, I can't believe I have em".
So don't bring your G without tire chains.
Anyone with snow experience that can share maybe?
Here are pictures of when I was stuck.

Thats Crazy... The chains didnt mess up the wheels? Your G looks good with a black roof. Is it painted or overlay?

Overlay.
From Bluebatmobile.
Because it was bad traffic so it took me 3 hrs to get down from the mountain.
And its Christmas too.
wow, sucks.

Man, you are one brave G-man. I know that road well and wouldn't be caught dead up there in my G coup with the weather we have been having. Hope everything works out and your heart rate goes down

I love how it's snowing and you still got the sunroof up!

I thought I was the only one that did that! Anyway hopefully the tire chains don't mess up your wheels. They are illegal in my state, but it doesn't matter to me since i have an AWD G35.

are you driving on the stock summer tires? You realize that the rubber actually freezes that's why they don't work at all during the winter.

Haha way to have your sunroof open

Summer performance tires can actually be quite dangerous in sub-32 degree weather

Got stuck in a snow storm before, luckily my friend with S4 saw me and make a decent track so I can follow him to the nearest exit then dug it out on the next day =) ... Another one is I can't even get out of a little ramp at a plaza, sat there and wait til the sand truck sprayed some sand then I got my traction. And thats not even mountain LOL... Either very brave of you or you're first timer.

Nice G. Funny how IP looks different around all that white snow. Looks like egg shell or some off white color.

Man I came down from big bear too it was messy! I didnt take the G tho. I had my Hummer that I took up a lot safer and more fun for the mountains. I actually only saw 1 G coupe while I was at big bear. Its probably not the best idea to try and tackle the snow with the G.

in Russia we have 6 month of winter - that is crazy !!!!
everybody in Moscow think that i am freak to drive G whole year. The second car in family is FX35-this is more easy to drive in winter even on summer tires.
but i low snow-because I can drift a lot =)

^ In Russia, winter has you.

But driving the G in snow is a bad idea in general, it snowed for the last week in Seattle and I got stuck about 3 times with brand new tires. Driving a Subaru Forester for now, that car is a beast in the snow.
