Learning stick on a g35

Hey, whats up guys
I'm looking into getting a 6sd g35, but i've never driven stick before

Is it difficult to learn on a g35?
Is it SMART to learn on a g35? What can a noob do that will ultimately damage the tranny and wear out the clutch? Ie. I know about riding the clutch, and thats about it

This q has probably been asked a number of times, but i thank you in advance for your patience and help

To be honest with you I learned to drive manuel on a Porsche. I drove my M3 for the following 5 years and now I have my G and out of all of them the G was the hardest to adjust to. The clutch is very bizzare with these cars but as with any standard it takes some getting used to. Some people will pick it up fast others it may take a month or two. Just be carful with the car. Respect it and you wont end up crying as the shop has to install a new flywheel/clutch setup running you over 1k.

I semi-learned stick on my 240sx with a stage3 6 puck clutch and then finished learning on my G. So you should be fine learning stick on the G.

Since we care comparing what we learned to drive on...

I learned on a 77' Chevy Stepside "3 on the tree" (3 speed column shifter)

Learn to correctly drive a stickshift car on a cheap civic or a truck. Our cars are really hard to learn on. I had guys that drove a mt car all their lives stall on my car. Hell, I even had infiniti service advisors stall!

Yes, pressure plate, clutch, flywheel...depending on how you stall.

G35 Coupe
i heard the clutches on the MTs go quickly, and i dont think u want it to go quicker, i just say , get a rent a car and just learn from there, then when u get the hang of it , learn partly on the G so u can get the sense of how and when to shift

i did when i bought my car. ill put it to you this way, i first kinda learned to drive stick on my friends rsx and i didnt even know what to do and he could coach me and get me going. but then i couldnt get my g to do anything but lurch and stall. but you will eventually get the hang of it and will almost never stall.

since we are comparing... I learned how to drive stick on a 1956 Wonder Bread Van with a H gear in the floor!

when I bought my G, i drove civics, toyota pick ups, integras with no problems(I was no expetr or pro) but The G still took some getting used to before i didnt stall anymore
