I'd suggest finding a friend who knows how to drive a stick, waiting until late in the evening, then finding a big parking lot somewhere to practice in. That way the pressure of not getting run over is eliminated.

Best wishes. It's not difficult. It just takes practice, a little effort, and patience.

I you thibk you're going to be in stop and go traffic a lot, go with auto. If you're hoing to do 50/50 driving, don't even think about it, go manual. Again, same as someone else already said, find a friend, practice in the evening, learn the manual. Cute pic. on my space.

I think there's literally one of these threads about manual vs stick coming up every day lately.

Go with the manual... unless you're lazy or have leg problems... then auto. If you're a girl... one additional non-car-related positive (if you care), is that it's a pretty attractive quality to most guys to see that a girl can and likes to drive stick. To me, it's indicative of some other personality characteristics that I really like in a woman.

Most people who enjoy driving can't live without the manual once they master the skill of driving. And by skill of it, I don't mean just being able to make the car move and smoothly shift gears... but the finer aspects of it, such as perfect rev matched downshifts... both without and also with double-clutching, and even heel-toe-downshifts when you get really good.

Do you want to drive stick? I mean if it doesn't matter just go for the auto and don't worry about it. Stick is fun but can be annoying in traffic. It all depends on you think is worth it or not.

MT or Auto....?
Buying a G with a MT will be sooooo much more fun when you learn how. Yea
it may take a week or so but once you get there you'll really enjoy driving.
The suggestion of having a friend along while practicing in a parking lot is
a good idea. You won't be under any pressure which will make learning easier.
Remember Gary's rule with any MT....clutch in....change gears....clutch out
and NEVER....EVER rest you foot on the clutch pedal when not in use....
