Oil Change
Where in San Jose are you? I believe Winchester Auto Parts carries Amsoil, and I think they even have Motul. If it's not in stock, then I'm sure you can order it through them.
Preferred customer price (what I get it at). For example, 5qts of the Singature Series 0w30 (their top oil) with an EA012 oil filter, is currently $69.02 shipped, after tax, etc.
let me know if you want some so I can grab the stuff today on my way San Jose. I have those magnefine filters as well for the power steering and automatic transmission. Keep in mind I am making zero profit off this stuff, this is strictly for you guys
on my accord it was $20 for oil and about $4 for a filter so I would say $25 dollars and I would do it my self. I'm thinking its gonna be double for the G if I want to stick with a good oil and filter.
alright this is gonna become a pissing contest...lol...
Man I'll tell you, I've been a Mobil 1 user for a while now man (before the G). Along with there Oil Filters.
I have always changed the oil&filter on my turbo'd car (older and runs a lil rich) at 2k and filter too (this car is or hasnt been babied)...and with the G i change it at 3k along with the filter.(and this car i shift about 4500)
I mean if your that worried and trying to prove something like everyones trying too, (on this data shyt) then go right ahead but do your own testing as ALL cars are gonna have different results PERIOD. Different Elevation/temps/etc etc & etc!!!
Or if you can afford it use my method and change everything @ 3k and youll be good reguardless (as long as its fully syn.)

That's about right for people using high-quality syn and good filter. 50 or 60 bucks versus 20-30 is worth it. Think about it, it's less than the price of a tank of premium 2-3 times a year if you drive A LOT. Not worth sweating the extra few $$, just do it.
OEM oil filter + washer is ~10 bucks.
1 hour of my time.
I use a the filter from the shop which is a factory Infiniti filter. i dont do it my self, because i dont have ramps, or a pan. I guess i can buy some and do it myself.
Unless it's made in Japan, I'd stay as far away as possible from the "OEM" filter.
German Castrol 0W30 and an oversized Mobil-1 oil filter are the only things that get used my car. I will use a Purolator PureOne oil filter though on the rare occasion that the Mobil 1's are out of stock. They're both fantastic filters.... miles ahead of the rest of the filters out there that you can buy off the shelf in the store.
An oil change for me costs $22.60 to $31.65 using the above-mentioned materials and not including tax. I only buy my German Castrol on sale when Auto Zone has their specials, and I usually go back and buy 4 or 5 individual purchases of the same oil so I get Auto Zone rewards points for each one seperately. Their usual special used to be 5 quarts of any Castrol Syntec and Mobil-1 filter for $26, but recently they've jacked their prices up to $35 for the same special whenever they have it on sale(it's currently "on sale" for $35 too up until like January 20th or so). I always use my Auto Zone rewards card too, so every 5 purchases of over $20 each, I get $20 of free merchandise from their store. Since I only pretty much use Auto Zone for buying oil, I'm always turning my Auto Zone rewards points into oil-change savings and that means my average oil change price over the course of 6 oil changes is currently $22.60 (since I have soo much backstock of German Castrol and Mobil-1 filters purchased during their old sale period). Once I run out, and have to start buying new German Castrol and Mobil-1 oil filter packages at the new $35 special rate, the average cost will jump up to $31.65 per oil change.
I still think this is a phenomenal steal if you can afford to spend a little more on buying some oil in bulk ahead of time and then keeping it around for when you need it. Buying that same oil at full price plus a Mobil-1 Filter is closer to $50 per oil change if you don't use Auto Zone Rewards and purchase it on an as-needed basis.
