Doesn't matter... it's either covered or it's not. It will be clearly stated on the paperwork. If it's a bumper to bumper extended warranty it's ALL covered.Originally Posted by fbpem1

Oil change has nothing to do w bumper to bumper warranty.. oil changes are important for your drivetrain warranty.
Where you get a oil change doesnt matter.. if you can show maint records. You can do it at jiffy lube (
) like prev suggested if thats your choice.. they cant deny ur warranty. Me personally I get it done at Infiniti just bc the tech and service advisor are both my friends an I have a history w them.
So.. where you get a oil change DOES NOT matter for ur warranty.. you want to go cheap or not doesnt matter. Just keep your records bc they will ask for them if you need waranty work done (speaking from personal exp w oil consumption and other warranty work). Case closed.

take it from me, keep your receipts!!!!!!!!!!
no matter where u go.. keep all paperwork!! im currently doing an oil consumption test and theyre sayn they dont have to cover the bill if the engines bad cuz i dont have any paperwork about any oil changes..
DGGEEZ... u said something about there is a court case that says i dont need those receipts and they still have to honor the warrenty.. id be in your debt if you could find that case out for me..

I'm hearing several different quotes via prices for oil changes...I called my local Valvoline yesterday and they said they'd recommend a synthetic oil (do I have to use it?) for $71 dollars. But I see you guys saying oil changes for $41 bucks...For syntheic oil? So I should just head to Nissan to get my oil change.

^ waste of money. Go Walmart get a jug of 5qrt Mobile-1 for $26 + a choice of your oil filter (don't get Fram), bring it to a good mechanic (a clean shop) and have him change for you with few more dollars. I have been doing Mobile-1 for my car in my driveway for years.

i took my g35 to infiniti to repair the window motor on the driver side and get the oil changed, didnt take very long and they hosed down my car afterwards. after that I had nissan service my car and it took HOURS! i watched home alone 2 twice! and listened to every song on my phone and had time to almost fall asleep. Im not sure on the price difference tho.

^^^ LOL +1. At Infiniti I always seem to get it done quicker. Last time, it only took them like 30 minute and 40 bucks isn't that bad.
+ you don't have to have the headache of wondering where u left your maint records. Infiniti does that for you. I also prefer having them work on the G because thats what they do on a daily basis and I don't have to worry about another shop screwing it up. If they screw something up they will cover it or fix it.
Oh and how was Home Alone? :P

I have never heard of a shop screw up oil changing beside Jiffy Lube. Just simply open the drain plug, let it drains (usually they will let it drain dry, because they leave it there and do other cars, you have time to go oil change, you'll have 20min to wait), change oil filter, unlift the car and fill up the oil. Plus to that, you will have to see what they do to your car. Do you see what they do to your car in the waiting room or glue your eyes to the TV? Second to that, most of those guys work in there will eventually own his own shop in the future just like those independent shop owners.

Or bring it to my house.. leave the keys for a couple hours. I'll take care of that. Just dont ask me what happened to your rear tires.
