Quick Question

Ok, here's how the story goes. My dad's gettin a g35c, and it arrived this wednesday. But, he was out of town. So he tells me to go get the loan application at the dealership on thursday, so we can get it on saturday. So i go to the dealership and i see the car we're getting on the floor. A bunch of people were looking at it an drooling, etc, and it had a sign on the windshield saying SOLD and our last name on it. Now can infiniti just put our car on the sales floor and let other people sit in it and touch everything? Not that im overprotective of the car, but when you order it, you really dont want anyone else being in it before you.

Re: Quick Question

Not to mention, if someone jacks it up, they have to waste money fixing it. BMW locks the doors on a sold vehicle and won't let you in it. It's not very nice of them to let others in your car. However, if you haven't filled out all the paperwork yet, it's not technically your car yet.

I'd perform a very thorough visual inspection of the entire car on delivery. As long as the car is okay when you pick it up and hasn't been test-driven, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it has more than 10 miles on it, or any messed-up bits (scratches or what-not), I'd start to get cranky with the sales manager.

Re: Quick Question

Well, when I had my car, I specifically told the sales that NO ONE other than myself (customer wise) can get the first look inside. And that he did, I had a 2000 deposit and When I got to the dealer's my car was locked. Just out of testing and cleaned. I then picked it up that night and no one else ever sat inside until I got home =) But it depends, you have to have a deposit and tell the sales specifically what you want. But if you hold off too long, who know's what they'll do.

Re: Quick Question

my dealer with a car of this calibre puts it out back in a lock up where no one can get to it.

I would check it out good berfore you take delivery as accidents do happen

Re: Quick Question

One way to look at it is that they cleaned it and it inside in airconditioning, no rain, dust or bird poop geting to it. Also with it inside they are not taking it for test drives.
Know how you may feel but it is still up to your Dad to B1&ch, it is afterall his car.

Re: Quick Question

i would say no- hyatt asked our permission if they could take ours and place it on the floor for a few days, and we said no, and they said okay. if they did that without your permission, i'd go down there ASAP and bitch to the manager and maybe get a nice discount or something, because they shouldn't do that.

Re: Quick Question

well, they never asked us for permission but we never told them they couldnt put it on the sales floor. My dad had a $500 deposit on the car, so i dont know if that makes any difference. When i was there the sales guy said they had another one on the floor that they werent supposed to give to someone until sunday, but he took it early, and that he had no other car to put on the floor.
