Pollock's first post, questions on first mods.
First off, I suppose it's about time to make my first post. I've had my g for about a year now, and I'm ready to start making some initial mods. I don't have a ton of cash to dump into it now, so I'm looking for some opinions on my ideas. I also have a few questions that I could use some help on too.
2005, G35 Coupe, daily driver. I suppose it's one of the more basic models, no sunroof, no sport package. 17x8 factory wheels.
I'm looking at putting the majority of my money into a nav/sound system for the interior, as the factory is not that impressive. I don't even have the bose system, but I've heard mixed reviews about that anyway.
I'm going more for looks right now, as I'm planning to keep this car a long time as an ongoing project. I'm gonna start off with a jdm pop charger, tint the windows, and a suspension upgrade. Eventually I'd like to get a nice set of staggered 19's on there, but for now I'm considering wheel spacers for my stockers.
I'm thinking about a set of springs to drop it down, and a set of spacers to offset the wheels to improve the look of the car. I'm hoping that will satisfy me for a year or so, at that point I should be able to save up for my wheels. I've been doing a lot of research on wheel spacers on here, and most of what I found was related to the factory 19's, so I'd like some help on offsets. My initial estimate would be something along the lines of 25mm rear, 15mm front.
I'm hoping for any help on the offsets, as well as any opinions on my initial plans for my car. Possibly anything else I should be looking at? I think if I nail the stagger on my stockers, drop it down, and tint the windows, it'll add a lot to the look of my car until I can start into some other mods.
Thanks for the help, I'm looking forward to your answers!

spacers
There's a huge thread, something along the lines of spacers are for idiots that I read. It's full of good information and bad information. I've read it, and and I feel good about running spacers as long as I buy quality.
What kinda nav/sound system you looking at? Wheels will definitely make it look much better than the stock 17's when you can. Clear corners and overlays are a good way for cheap to change the exterior too. Tint definitely looks good too
Like yourself, I really don't post much, but find this forum to be very helpful and informative. I also use my car as a daily driver so I don't plan to mod the car as much, but the things I'd consider I've always found answers here. Your best bet is to use the search function....hasn't let me down yet.
spacers for your wheels are NOT bad for the car.. as long as you go between 10-25 mm you will be fine.. PLENTY of people run them

I say start with some clear corners, change the clearence strip light, and licence plate lights. tint, rims, and maybe some overlays.
BTW its not a "JDM Pop charger" Its a JWT pop charger.
Good luck

Very first mods, clear sides and tint. Watch our Marketplace for great deals
on wheels/tires but make sure you know what your buying before hand.
Re-do's are expensive and costly....
