K&N & Z-Tube

Can anyone tell me if the K&N drop in filter alone on its own adds any horses or power feel to the Coupe? Any sound differences. No other mods.

Next, if the Z-tube is combined with the K&N, does it make a noticeable difference in power, acceleration, sound?

Please help.

Re: K&N & Z-Tube

I'm using that combo for now until someone make an Eaton SC for my G. I am pretty happy with it. Makes a noticeable difference in power. I've never run a 1/4 in it so can't give solid #s, but the butt dyno says it's good. The sound is definitely more agressive than stock, but it's not the same as a CAI.

I have that combo as well and put my K&N drop-in a couple of months after my z-tube install. Didn't notice any sound difference or increase in power after installing the K&N. I figure I'm lucky if I get 1-2 hp out of it. Now the z-tube on the other hand is a must!

I've had this setup for a while as well. It definitly deepens the exhaust note especially when you get on it. HP wise, it's an improvement but nothing too far from stock....from what I can tell atleast.

Re: K&N & Z-Tube

With just the drop in K&N filter, will their be any difference in sound? Not including the Z-tube...

Thanks!

Re: K&N & Z-Tube

I dont know about just the filter but with the z-tube and I noticed some difference in sound. Alittle deeper than stock and not too loud to be annoying but when I dropped in the K&N there was no sound difference. Also no significant increase in performance.

Re: K&N & Z-Tube

I would guess that there would be a difference in sound since it's lesser restrictive filter. But I installed the Ztube & K&N at the same time so I don't what the K&N filter by itself would sound like.

Re: K&N & Z-Tube

I have only a K&N filter in an otherwise totally stock engine. I can honestly say that I felt absolutely no difference whatsoever after putting it in.
