You don't need a warranty, you've got a Dad.... If you can find a
BMW that's in great shape for what you intend to pay, go for it! That may
be tough to find, but I wish you luck.

also insurance on an m3 will be much higher then on a g, if cash flow is a concern you may want to look at the g further.

 

m3 ftw but dont get smg. I had an SMG 5 series and its fun and all that but to be honest id much rather have an actual manual tranny. I sold the car and a couple weeks after the new owner had the car in the shop (out of warranty) because the smg pump for the transmissio fluid or w.e it is had blown. Was about 2k to fix.

 

Even with your dad... parts themselves are pretty expensive. Having driven both cars the M3 is only marginally faster... after a few mods, the G should pull on the M3 pretty easily.

The VQ in the G is a great engine as well, Nissan/Infinity uses(d) it on everything therefore parts arent too expensive and readily available.

I say stick with the G and make it unique and yours

Also, have driven several M3's and prefer my G, especially the looks.
