06 Projectors Plug and Play???

Hey guys, I was wondering if the 06 projectors are in fact plug and play (hook up my old ballast connector to the new bulbs in the projectors and I'm good to go). I've been told that by all sellers when I am looking to buy, but have been told that I need inverters or something of the sort by a friend of mine. Not sure myself, hope you guys can help.

I did, everything was about either installing the actual headlight or aiming it. (Hence I am aware of the existance of the search button lol) but I couldn't find anything about inverters for any part of the install so I wanted to double check. What about the plugs for the clearance strips, what happens to them after I get rid of my 04s?

clearance strips are replaced by the small city lights inside the fog light portion of the housing

completely plug and play. you just need to buy bulbs, if your set did not come with bulbs. you can use the existing ballasts on your old headlights if your new set did not come with them.

AWESOME, thanks guys. I just hate the fact that buying mods becomes a money pit sometimes (always DUH) cuz I hate buying something for something else just to install something and then not wanting that something anymore cuz it's such a pain in the A$$.
If that made any sense!

Yessir, and you DON'T need D2S bulbs.. You can use your old D2R's.. I found this out when installing the projectors on Princess_Jen's car.. We took the bulb and wiring from her 05 lights and fitted them in the 06 lights and they worked...

My 06 projectors already came with blubs though.

Not for our case, it was seriously a peice of cake.. There was 2 or 3 mini screws holding the mesh wire in place and we just unscrewed those swapped them out with the 06 lights... Light output is completely normal along with the color and all.

Main reason we did that is because the bumper and lights were already off the car and there was no place in town that sold D2S bulbs and the dealers were closed so our options were to put everything back together or try it anyway.. We tried it and it worked fine.

There is no way a stock d2r bulb fit into a d2s housing without modification. I'll bet money on it.

I'm not joking.. Seriously ask Princess_Jen.. It was her car and she saw it all. She was the one calling around town looking for D2S bulbs. The D2R's worked in the projectors..

Unless Her 05 lights had D2S bulbs in them previously for some reason...

All we did was switch out that mesh wiring which was held on by a couple screws.
