philips comes in 4100/4300K (depending on who you ask), 5000K and 6000K only.

Re: philips hids?

philips don't have 5000k!!
only 4300 and 6000k

try this www.xenondepot.com

5000k is a philips 4300k with a blue coating on it!

Philips made these so that people who have an hid bulb go out after it colorshifts can purchase one that will match the color of the one that is still good.

I don't know about the 2003's but my '04 coupe had the 85126+ bulb in it before I switched to the Ultinons.

Get your facts straight my friend.

Re: philips hids?

Moog,
the bulbs from hidking won't be philips ultinons. otherwise, I'd be all over that deal.

I really like the way the ultinons have the shade of purple. if you can find some pics of what the hidking 6000k bulbs look like, that might help with your GB.

(even if they look just like the ultinons, I'd be in your GB too )

Re: philips hids?

suvlights has a 8000k bulb made by vestec. It's not a philips.

Here's a list of their products:
85122: D2S. Color is bluer white with slight greenish tone.
85122+: D2S CM (Plus). 5000K. Aftermarked only. Ment to pair up with used 85122. Released Q4, 2002.
85122WX: D2S Ultinon. Aftermarked only. Released Dec 2001.
85123: D2S. Color is bluer white with slight purple tone. Not officially on Philips product list. Nevertheless, it is found in some BMW OEM HID headlamps.
85407: D1S. Integrated ignitor.
85407+: D1S CM (Plus). Integrated ignitor. Aftermarked only. Ment to pair up with used 85407. Released Q4, 2002.
85126: D2R.
85126+: D2R CM (Plus). 5000K. Aftermarked only. Ment to pair up with used 85126. Released Q4, 2002.
85126WX: D2R. Ultinon. Aftermarked only. Released Dec 2001.
85408: D1R. Integrated ignitor.
85408+: D1R CM (Plus). Integrated ignitor. Aftermarked only. Ment to pair up with used 85408. Released Q4, 2002.

Also, can you do something about your sig?

Re: philips hids?

It occurs to me that my Philips HID 6000K changed color from blue-white to yellow-white on my accord after roughly 6 months. I do not think it is really worth it, although the light is great, but I dont expect to pay 400~500 dollars on some product that does not carry out stable performance.

Currently I am using Xtech (or Xtec, not sure) 7000K. The distributor told me that after they have complained with Phillips regarding the color-change issue and Phillips replied with no helping attitude, he switched to Xtech, a Japanese HID manufacturer.

The shop owner who installed Xtech for me said the light color quality is much better than the phillips. However, IMO, Phillips HID is a big brighter... But I am happy with my Xtech now.. hope this will help

ensheep:

The reason why the phillips HID is a bit brighter is because you got the 6000k bulb and the Xtech one is 7000k. The 6000k puts out about 3000 lumens, whereas the 7000k puts out about 2800 lumens.. I think the stock 4300k puts out 3400-3500 lumens, but it might be a little less. I know the 5200k puts out 3200 lumens.. so the higher you go, the more colorful it is but the darker it gets.

I just installed a 6000k MisterJung H4 conversion kit from my old car that I got about a year ago and by comparison the stock hid doesn't look as white anymore.. I'm tempted to buy a 6000k dr2 bulb from MisterJung but I heard that his customer service has gone down the tube and I don't want to risk it.. but I can vouch for the quality of the kits.
