Quick intake and spacer question

I have a 2004 coupe and i'm going to be ordering and intake and spacer this week. I still havent decided between Fujita short ram or stillen(ztube), which one sounds better? Also I'm going to be getting a spacer (Motordyne) and i'm wondering what size and what kind of spacer i have to get ( http://www.motordyneengineering.com/G35.php ). Thanks.

They all sound better than OEM....!

My first choice has always been the Stillen CAI/Z-Tube combo due to the
size of the K&N filter but mainly because it's not effected by heat. Metal
intakes suffer from heat soak which kills HP due to the temp reached under
our hoods. MotorDynes spacers are a great mod, to keep your engine cover
you'll want to get the 5/16" spacer with copper and by pass valve. The
copper and valve will also keep the incoming air cooler well worth the time
to install....Good Luck and Enjoy!

Thanks! but i was looking along the line of a short ram intake because it can rain alot up here (norcal) and i dont want to run the risk of hydrolock. Also is the 1/2" too big or is the 5/16 better, is there a sound difference? Thanks

The copper iso thermal and the bypass valve are both the same things... the copper iso thermal doesn't need to be manually opened or closed like the normal bypass valve would need, and neither really help keep the intake plenum stay cooler - they are both throttle body heater bypass systems. It's the Aramid gasket that you put under the lower plenum that really makes the difference in keeping temps down.

But I can't argue that it is a great mod.

The stillen isnt really a CAI. It is placed just as a short ram intake would be in the engine bay, it just has a plastic box surrounding the filter, so it's a "Cold Air Box"

The huge intake duct over the radiator turns a box into a cold air intake... Most likely works better than most cold air intakes with the filter mounted under the headlight too.
