Labor charges for mods

Is $110/hr too much to pay for labor charges by a local dealership? I'm installing a Stillen ground kit and a Z-tube that came to 2 hours of labor time equalling to $220+product prices. I know I can probably do it myself but I would rather pay since I rearely have the time on weekends. Is the dealership charging too much?

Also, any thoughts on the Stillen ground kit and whether there is a better alternative? I know there is a Nismo kit out there as well but it's only 6 cables vs 8 that the Stillen has.

The prices (or labor time) quoted by your dealership seem excessive for what most on this forum say are the simplest of mod installs.

However, like you, I just did not have the patience nor time to do it myself. So, I found a local performance shop to complete the install. If I remember correctly, they charged me $30 for the Z-tube/pop-charger install and another $25 for the grounding kit install.

Those prices seem more reasonable. Does anyone know of any non-dealership shop that will warranty their work (and do a good job!!!) in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?

Thanks!

If you don't love your car enough to spend some time with her, leave it stock.

You most likely won't have time to notice a difference in the mod anyway.

No amount of money is too much to pay if you got it to blow.

Wow, Stillen now has 8? I remember when ppl used to call Stillen to ask for the 6th and 7th wire GroundingGear™ developed on this forum and they didn't know what anyone was talking about! It's only a matter of time before they adopt #s 9 and 10 into their kits that my EEs and members here help develop over the past year. They're still using 8 ga Tsunami cable aren't they? Let us know how they work.

I completely disagree. I can completely understand with a person not having time and more than that, possibly not having any tools at all to do the job. Not everyone is so mechanicly inclined. Just because you may be, doesn't mean you should say others can't do any mods. And what is that about not even recognizing the mods? Just because you put them on you can actually feel them? That is ridiculously stupid.
