So sad.

This is my first post on the forum and I am sorry to say that it is not done in a pleasant mood. I drive an 05 Infiniti G35 Coupe which I love with a passion I can not even begin to describe. The other week I woke up and went outside to drive to school and was traumatized at the scene before me. My beautiful pristine G35 coupe had been smashed into some time in the night leaving my front end badly damaged.
This was just the beginning of my nightmare I went through the stressful process of making an insurance claim and after about a week and half of delaying, making excuses and avoiding my questions they informed me that they would not be paying for the damage and further more that they would be discontinuing my coverage with them. I was initially enraged but now have fallen into a somber ambivalence.
I had the damage assessed and I am expected to spend 3000+ dollars. That is money I simply do not have. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that specializes in G35 parts and installation around Santa Clara or San Jose California that would be able to do the labor, paint color blending and whatever if I order the parts myself to save money. I may have to go with after market parts as they are cheaper and I am pretty short on cash I need a new hood, energy absorber, radiator support, and bumper cover. I would appreciate any help in terms of a shop and recommendations for good quality after market parts.

Might want to tell other what insurance company you were with, then they can forward their hate mail and steer clear of ever using them.

I am really sorry to hear that this has happened, although I don't know of any shops in your area, you are lucky because California has some of the best shops in the world. Well at least compared to Canada.

I wish you luck and welcome to the forum, hope the rest of your stay is better than this!

What are the reasons for denying your claim? I don't see how something like that could be denied. Unless the damage looks real suspicious for a parked car.

Did you have full coverage on your car? Was your insurance paid up at the time when the accident happened?

If so... then the insurance company has to pay for it, or you can take them to court and you will win unless there is some "funny business" going on about the accident that you're not telling us about. They can't just deny your claim without a reason. They can drop your coverage if they want, but they still need to honor your claim if it is legitimate since you were covered at the time of the accident and they are legally required to meet the conditions of the insurance contract that you both agreed to. You'll have to pay a deductible, but it will be far less than the $3K you said it will cost to fix it.

$3K sounds like a TON of damage for a parking lot accident in which one car was stationary(yours), and the other driver left the scene in his car under its own power. Do you have any pictures of the cars condition? If so.. post them here, it might give us a better idea as to why the insurance company might think that something is suspicious about the accident and try to deny the claim.

What "Chicken ****" insurance company were you with? There's such a thing
as the Insurance Commission, they're in business for just this kinda fraudulent
action. You really need a good lawyer to represent you in this matter,
insurance company's can cancel your policy's but they have an obligation to
cover your hit and run and the damage to your G....bastards! Can you tell
I've been where your at?

Sorry to hear about this unfortunate chain of events.

If I had to recommend a shop in SJ, I would endorse Espana's Collision Repair on the corner of 4th St & Gish Rd. They've done all my work, and have done it flawlessly. The down side is, they are pricey. Another place I've dealt with in the past (back when I had my Civic) is Capitol Collision off of Hillcap Ave (behind the Century Capitol theaters). They did quality work at a very affordable price, but then again, this was based off work they did on my Civic, not my G.

Best of luck to you in getting this situation with your ins. company resolved, and ultimately, getting your G repaired.

I'm suer there's a California Dept. of. Insurance. Google them, look into that. I'm in the insurance business and boy, oh boy, we're held accountable for our actions. Follow up asap, it's your money.

Damn bro Im sorry to hear about that. But like everyone else said you need to serve them their asses for trying to pull such a stunt. They need to provide you with details as of to why they denied your claim otherwise they must pay. Either way if you are trying to go about it by paying out of pocket, PM PPGFreak. He has a lot of the front end parts for your car.

wow im sorry that that hapened man, you should really contact a lawyer, i beleive that the insurance company is obligated to pay for the damages, thats the reason you have insurance in the first place.

If you paid your premiums and they accepted the payment then you are covered. Unless they are claiming some type of fraud or something then I don't know what ground they have to stand on. Even if they are claiming fraud or something like that they would have to prove it, suspicion of it is not enough to deny a claim. Like everyone else I'm really interested to hear their grounds for denying the claim.

I was initially enraged but now have fallen into a somber ambivalence.
That's the problem. WHY in the WORLD would you STOP being enraged if what you stated is correct and there hasn't been any fraud?

1. Call your insurance company and ask to speak with a supervisor. Start pounding them for information (politely, of course.) Write everything down (person, position, date/time, etc...)

2. If you have exhausted your efforts at the insurance co., call a lawyer. It can be that the insurance company may have made a mistake and with the help of a lawyer, they are willing to reverse their decision/position.
