New Tires @ 33K

Went to discount yesterday...think the guy screwed me...said he gave me the same discount he gives to friends and family (I know the owner, but he wasn't there...I told this guy this and he told me he's his 'right hand man' and he'd 'hook me up'). Whatever. Dropped the price to $271 each for the Z-rated Michelline tires (245's). Total was $716 for the 2 rear tires. They had to order them, so I do not have them on yet. I do not need to replace my front tires yet...I'm thinking around 38K probably. Should I ask for a different tire...? Thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

I think you're getting screwed. You can get the pilot sports 245/45/18"s for $246+shipping. A reputable shop shouldn't charge more than $25 bucks a tire to install them. Costco charges $9.00 per tire.

If you're interested in a set of stock michelin tires with very low miles, PM me.

sounds like a very simple solution, if you really know the owner just call him and ask him the price he would have charged you.

He might have added in the tire certificate which protects you against blow outs and damage done to the tire...that adds like 30 a tire

Re: New Tires @ 33K

I should also note that I'm leasing this car, and right now I'm about a month past halfway through the lease, so I have about 17 months to go. The way I see it, I only want to buy one more set of tires before I turn the car in. I've had my fun with these tires and put 33K on them and I think they've done great for the way I treated them, especially hearing what other people have been posting about the problems with them. Those of you who have had to replace them, what have you paid (if you got the direct replacement)...? Are the stock ones that come on the 6MT Z rated...? What are some options for other tires that may be just as good and not as expensive (I know Michelline's are very expensive in general)...?

Correction above...not "one more set of tires" but "one set of tires"
