The new G forums should have.....
The new G forums should have.....
A tag to verify that you actually own a coupe. You might see this feature on dating and rating websites. This could be accomplished by submitting a pic with a sign.
This sounds kind of stupid at first but it would eliminate all the 15 year olds that come on here posting bullshit and filling the threads with nonsense.
Im not saying non-G drivers shouldn't be able to post here MiXeD provided good stuff....but it will definately keep away all the fake posts.
Also.....we need a Buy/Advice Forum. no more of this "am i getting a good deal" crap or "should i wait". I don't want to see that ****.
Those are my suggestions. Maybe it will make me want to check back here daily again like I used to.

Re: The new G forums should have.....
What prevents them from just posting a pic of someone else's or snag a G pic off the net?

And exactly how would you know this?
What about a filter that we could "blank out" people who we feel are non-value added. That way if someone did not like me (I know it's silly, just play along) they could add me to a "filter" and every post I made or thread I replied to would not appear. That way if some one is outrageously negative or bothersome you could just "turn them off" while still enjoying the site.

For some reason I can't see the post above this one.
It's, like, blank.
Anyone know what's going on?

Ferrari? Last that I heard from him he trade it in for a Lamborghini Diablo and he bought a McClaren F1 on the side for fun. ou guys need to get your story strait.
Re: The new G forums should have.....
If you took a picture with your personal username on something physical next to your G then we could have a pretty accurate measure of validity. (not perfect, but pretty good)

Re: The new G forums should have.....
Yeah but any schmuck could do that with Photoshop too. Meanwhile you'll have alienated 50% of the real G owners that have better things to do than follow some wild procedure to gain acceptance from the elite brotherhood.
The best solution is realize that it will never be perfect. What can't be dealt with through moderation, ignore.

It's pretty damn good the way it is. If you don't like what you read, just move along. It's not that hard. I've seen other forums with the filter Neff described, and it is an awesome feature.

Re: The new G forums should have.....
In theory that would be nice... but think about how hard that would make it on someone who is interested in the G and wants to ask a simple question (would you really want to exclude someone who owns, say, an S2000, who wants to ask a specific question of G owners because he/she is interested in the car), not to mention the extra load on the moderators who would have to have to go through every new member's picture in order to activate his/her account.
I know some of the questions get repetitive, but the bottom line is that not everyone is experienced enough with messageboards to know about the search feature. I am in no way complaining, and I would imagine that those who have used this forum and others would agree, but the search feature here is terrible anyway. I personally just treat messageboards like I would a newspaper... if there is something that I don't want to read, I skip it! This is all not to mention the fact that not everyone has a digital camera/scanner, and/or pictures of their car.
Besides, if you make this a private forum, you will just **** off would-be trolls and their numbers will probably go UP just because you've made it harder for them to get in. They'll do their photoshops to get in just to spite the policy.
