open your hood, the airbox has 4 metal clips, 2 on top, 2 on the bottom, unclip them.. spacing is tight so you will have to push and hold the airbox apart, pull out old filter, put in new, re align the two sides of the air box, and pop the clips back into position

a 5 year old kid can do it

It's also a bit easier if you remove the 10mm bolt near the drivers side fender that attaches the airbox to the car.

damn.

You should change it every 5-6-7k depends on the area you live in and if you travel allot on dusty country roads.

Keep in mind that if your car gets dirty in a week that means that there is a same amount of same dirt on your air filter.

You don't wash your car every 26k miles do you?

Yea my previous cars I've always been on top of my maintenance. I just bought the car with 24k miles so she will be taken care of from now on lol.

Good thing is most of the oil changes were atleast done on time from the dealers records.

Hey, no prob! Our engines seem to suck a lot of air and have good exposure to dirt and sand from the front. I changed mine at 15K miles and it should have been done sooner. Not as bad as the OP, but still pretty impressive.
