hawks vs project u
Let me explain this, my OEM pads lasted just barely 10K miles and I had
dust an inch thick/chips all over my wheels. With my Hawks the dust is
minimal and they make zero noise. I'm at 24K miles on the clock and they're
barely worn. The noise brake pads make can be erased by doing the correct
brake in procedure. I would do this with any pad because the only sound
I want to hear is my exhaust rumble. Find BRAKE IN PROCEDURE by doing a
SEARCH.

I ordered my Project Mus from mynismo.com unfortunately they're not a vendor, but I got all 4 corners with shipping for 150 which was the best deal I found. The shipping was of the cheapest variety but they still got here in a day and a half which was freaking awesomeDOMO
No....actually I left it BREAK so not to confuse our member with engine break
in. There's another topic which there's as many opinions as there
are members....

I checked out the site Agent F, that is a good price. It seems like Project Mus are the ticket.

I believe the proper name is actually "Brake Bed-In Procedure".
I have not heard too much about Akebono's.....read some place that they were up there with the Hawks, Project Mu's.
Anyone? Tirerack has the Akebono's for a pretty good price.

Andy's answer and Break in Procedures!
Andy....
My suggestion would be to use either Hawk HP or Mu pads, certainly not
OEM pads unless you enjoy changing pads frequently and like all the dust!
Here's the break/bed in procedure as I did mine:
After the pads are installed take your car to an area where there's little
traffic.
Make 4 runs 35 MPH to 10 MPH while doing this try not to come to a complete stop.
Make 3 runs 45 MPH to 10 MPH
Finally make 1 run 65 MPH to 10 MPH
Now park you car for several hours and let the disc/pads cool. If you follow
this procedure you won't have issues with squeaks....I haven't!

Project Mu B-Force or even better, Endless Vita Nuova if you can find a set. all brake pads need to be properly bedded to get the best performance, but that is not always possible after driving out of shop or your garage after installing. you have to at least be able to drive to a place where it is clear enough to do a proper bed in procedure. I found with both of these pads there were no issues driving right after install with no bed in process. no squeak, squeal or dust and excellent stopping power from cold. nice linear pedal feel. perfect upgrade for a daily driver.
I have the Project u ns pads and couldn't be happier. I don't get any brake squeal and there is less dust than the OEM pads.
One of my friends has the Hawk pads and he has one of the most horrible brake squeal ever. Not sure which one he has but I know they are for the brembos whereas mine are not. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the bed-in procedure write up gary, def gonna make sure I do that.
And on topic of OEMs, just say NOOOOOOOOOO. I still have plenty of pad left, but they wear, I get fade when it heats up, and very inconsistent braking when they're cold as they begin to wear. I was thinking of the B Force, but heard they might be nosier because and dustier since they are track pads. Let us know what you go with.
