WTF?? How much faster are 08's??

OK, i dropped my car off today to infiniti.. its an 06 coupe

They gave me an 08 sedan

OMG, i swear this car is 10X faster than my car.. i put it in DS mode, and dayum!!

I actually switched to manual mode, and i dropped gears, and it took me from 60mph to 100mph in like 2 secs max..

Not to talk of the braking, the brake is sensitive as hell and feels much more powerful than my 06 coupe..

anyone else notice this? or is my coupe slow and need a tune up??

I see that youve found the HR motor to be way more fun that our DE motor. Not a surprize. I want an HR motor too

my dad bought a new sedan after I got my coupe 2 years ago, and that thing hauls ***! If only Infiniti would get their junk together and make an M series/ S line / F line/ Spec V or something. Infiniti is the only big import without a high end race car.Don't say GTR, because that's in a league all by itself.

I felt the exact same when they gave me the same loaner!

It feels a lot faster also because the gearing is really good. It feels alot more torquey then my coupe also. But I put this FEEL to the test.

I raced my friend with the saturn sky(turbo) with my coupe(stock) and beat him by about 3 car lengths. When i got the loaner I raced him and beat him by 4 cars ones and 5 cars the other time. Not a HUGE difference, although the peformance feels like night and day. I think it's all in their gearing, that **** shifts really fast for an Auto also!

Your 05 sedan still has the VQ DE engine. The ones they are talking about are the 07+ VQ HR engines.

I have an 08 loaner right now and I know exactly what you mean. The gearing is great and smooth. DS mode is awesome. My coupe is going to feel so slow when I get it back.

^ hahaha funny but I believe I do know what you meant. I recently experienced something a little different. Put my dad's 05 TL in for the service and they gave me a brand new 09 fully loaded TL (not SH-AWD), with Nav and 10spkr ELS system. It's under my name so I had it for a whole day and night =) and 1/2 tank of fuel. Makes me feel less love on my G after driving it beside the handling and ofcourse high speed in an exit. Which is the one that I take everyday going home from work. Yesterday when I picked up my wife at school, the afternoon sun hit my car and GOD its hard for me to trade it in for another car. But gotta go try the new G37 sedan soon incase the wife wants a family car.

I have the loaner for today also..while it is much faster, the seats aren't as comfortable and the handling is also crappy, but the thing does launch!! I like my coupe..get alot more compliments...

yeah i've heard these stories as well, but i'm not really into sedans, and the coupe, in my opinion, looks better.

g37 sedan is pretty damn clean though.

This is obvious.. Wat I was referring to is just throttle response and the smoother shifts in the 05
