Help body shop giving me hard time..
#31
i had my DP painted a couple of weeks ago..and no problem..he even matched it better than factory..the metal/plastic diff. in our paint...
there is a slight color diff. though, plastic parts either seem off, compared to the metal paint. because of the metaliic or something, as i was explained by the bodyshop guy.
as for the shop:
i dont think they're able to do it right, and ordering from "japan"?lol thats funny...
tell them to order a new painter while they're at it...
sorry to hear about ur problem, do u know the bodyshop personally? or was that the place the insurance told you to go?
not sure if its like cali laws, where ur allowed to take it to your preffered shop?
hope it all works out...keep us posted

Oh and to get back on track with the thread. I would tell those cheap bastards you want your quarters and decklid faded into. I wouldn't even just spray a bumper on one of my $8k rebuilders. It doesn't take long to just do it right the first time. I'd like to know what kind of paint they are using that they can't match it. You would think they have a mixing station being a body shop and all. For them to say they might have to get the paint from Japan is pretty funny, There is no way that would match.

Update.. got the car back.... looks great.. they use PPG its jsut a matter if trial and error.. took about 5-6 times to get it.. they said they sprayed diff coats on an old bumper and put it on the car then they figure out which one works .. and they sprayed that on the new final bumper and to me it is so close it looks the same as the other panels.. im happy and stress free...
