Some idiot put a DENT on my rear bumper! But the scary thing is. . . I saw another G with the EXACT dent just few days ago, and I was thinking to myself "man, I feel sorry for that owner". . .
But looking at the paint damage, the impack wasn't big, yet my bumper gave in like it was made of paper! Anybody know how much will this hit my wallet?

Wow that's weird, happened to me last fall in my sedan. I was in a parking lot and this guy almost hit me pulling in this spot so I started inching back like saying wow what an idiot and a woman back into me and it sounded like I ran over a plastic cup. Same dent on the same side cost 6-700$, they will replace the bumper cover. Then I saw another sedan with the same exact dent in the same place the next day lol. Sorry to hear about that, just get it fixed. Martin

Same exact thing happened to me on the opposite side. I hit a mini-van backing out of my drive way at 1 mph. These bumpers are as thin as a piece of paper. It set me back $300. $200 for the bumper cover and $100 dollar paint job from a friend.

 

Shouldn't cost any more than your deductible.. dont you have insurance?

I don't get what you're saying. If it doesn't cost any more than my deductible why should I file a claim and loose my claim-free discount. I was still gonna have to eat the deductible ($250) anyway.

 

well iLLG35 was quoting quite a bit...Anything significant over your deductible isn't worth paying.

SHeet Metal and Labor?????What the hell are they talking about. Its a couple of bolts, prep,primer, and paint. No sheet metal involved. If they were in NYC I'd go there with you and slap whoever said that for being an a$$

Under 1k for sure. Most likely just pay for a new bumper. The bumper can be painted or unpainted. If unpainted shop will charge you extra to paint the bumper and install it on. My guess is around 500.

 

Sorry to hear about your car bro.....im guessing the bumper will cost close to 1000 because i got quoted damn near 1000 for replacing front bumper and lip at which case i just got the Type N.....also...it cost 1400 to replace my driver side fender when i got hit in January....

Yes I do as a matter of fact. You can try heating the bumper with heat gun and popping it out that way. If no heat gun, then try a hair dryer set to the hottest mode. Or, you can dismantle the bumper, fill up your hot tub with the hottest water you can get, let it soak for a few minutes and then pop it out.
