hey everyone, the wait is finally over. picked up my g35 from ray catena in edison, nj today and have been driving ever since. my only complaint so far is that they gave it to me with 124 miles on it already since apparently they had to drive it down from connecticut which i thought was pretty ridiculous. what is everyones recommendations for breaking in the engine?

here are some first day pics, i would have more but i don't feel like sitting inside on the computer when i can be out driving...i'm sure you all can relate..

It's not really ridiculous as you say it is... they probably did a swap with them. If there was no swap, you would have probably had to wait longer... maybe even one from Japan. That would take even longer.

My car comes in two weeks... I can't wait.. so jealous of you!! =P

People have different views on how to break in their cars. The owners manual has a certain break in time listed, but there are some who change their oil/trans fluid at around 300 miles to get rid of any metal shavings that may come loose.

Personally, I wasn't too worried about shavings. It's not like in the old days when engine parts were made with machinery that wasn't microscopically precise, but to each his own.

Enjoy your ride, expect a power window motor to fail.

 

124 miles! I would have asked for some money off. I think they should have trailered it to the dealership. that is BS. The dude driving your G probably redlined it every shift!
