Sqeek and creeeeek

Ok for the past 4 or 5k miles or so I've had a weird sqeeking from the back right side of the car. I notice it the most at night. My 04 coupe 6mt has 10.5k miles on it. I don't think it's the brake pads. When do they usually need to be changed out on the 6mt?

Also I just put on my RS*R exhaust yesterday, and from a start I hear a little creeking sometimes. I don't think it was there before. It's the sound you hear when you've been driving for a while, and stop your car, and you can hear your cats creeking when they cool down. It sounds a lot like that but it happens really fast like 3-4 times. Think this might just be something rubbing?

Thanks Guys!

Well it doesn't happen when I'm actually using my brakes. I only hear it when I'm off the brakes. Maybe I should let a dealership look into it.

Re: Sqeek and creeeeek

I get the same thing on my 2004 6MT. Sounds like a really big hamster wheel. <g> Usually only around 30 mph, and applying any brake pressure maked it stop.

I mentioned this when I went in for my 7.5k service, but when I went out for a roadtest with the tech, it wouldn't repro. (Like you, it usually happens in the evening.)

I'm going to have to try another visit to the dealer but schedule it later in the day.
