HELP, car shaking at high speeds

Just started happening today. When i get up above 65mph the whole car starts to shake and gets worse as I go faster. I'm thinking it might be the alignment but im not sure. I did some snow drifting last night for about ten mins so Im thinking that might have caused it. It shakes when its in or out of gear and definitely doesn't feel like a bad axle or wheel bearing.
Any insight? I've had the car a while and have changed the tires out twice without ever getting an alignment. Think that's it?

I had the same issue a few times but it ended up being swelling in the inner lip of the tire. Had to replace the tire.

hmmm, maybe thats what it is. I got the winter tires put on at discount tires a couple months ago. I wonder if I should just take it to them

could be:
Alignment
Not properly balanced wheel
Bent/loose outer tie rod

Or all/some of the above.
Those are just off the top of my head.

If you got the tires put on at discount tire take it back to them and get them rebalanced. If it continues to happen than you know its not a balancing problem and than go from there

Sounds like a wheel is imbalanced, not sure though.

Alignment dosent cause any vibrations and getting an alignment will not solve a vibration problem.

hmm

"I was ragging out my car by doing some snow drifting and now I have a high speed vibration."

Maybe a Lead weight fell off. Go get them balanced. it's the easiest thing to have done.

If the wheels don't have any problems then you need to start looking at your suspension or wheel bearings.

While the tires are off they can inspect for that.

well I took a closer look and found a missing lug nut on the rear passenger wheel so I took it back to discount tire to have them replace it. Neither the guy who replaced nor me thought that could be causing the vibrations. He thought it might be the snow/ice compacted in the wheel well which I didn't know that could cause anything. anyway, he replaced the lug nut and cleared out the snow/ice and now it drives fine

Im just happy it wasnt anything serious. thanks for the help though guys
