i have an 05 and ive never had squeeks and rattles in my dash or in any of the interior. it might not be that common of a problem. dont blast pot holes and your car wont fall apart.

in my opion, 05 is good enough. All you need to do is to switch the headlights to 06+ (not necessary). As i said, i haven't heard any noise from the interior. Those are not big problems to worry about, the only thing you need to focus on is your budget. 18k is not enough for an 06 G with miles less than 50k. And plus, it's gonna be hard for you to find the color you want. 05 is much easier to find, you can get the color you want, stick shift or auto, and as i can see, you're trying to find a car with all the things you want (the spoiler, the lights...). Dont forget that you have to pay for tax, fees and insurance. Dang, many different costs eh? Well, 18k can not do that much unless you borrow a loan. Not because i'm driving an 05 G then i'ma say good things about it. But before buying my G, those are ideas that i got. Good luck to you then.

06 ftw.
Yea bro, forgot to mention the headlights. But again, lights is not a big problem. Thanks for reminding me, lol.

If u want to go n/a i would just a get a revup. Probably a 05 because u like the tailights and the wing. U have to get 6mt for revup. Get the mrev2, md spacer, hfc's, exhaust, and stillen in take with z tube, then tune, that will put u too about 270 to the wheels and should be plenty of power imo. For exhausts get, fi, hks, or injen. Then hfc's get fi, crawford, and berk. Find used stuff on the forum for almost half price, saves u money. I just bought crawford cats for 250, they reatail for 5 or 4 hundred. Thats my input for u hopfully that helps.

Glad to see another ClubGP guy on here!

If you do get an 06 and want to trade for the 03-04 tail lights, hit me up - I will trade.

hey chad, i didn't know you were on here, didn't even know you had a G. Got bags on that too? lol

Are the rev ups the same motors? I don't know all the abbreviations yet, i've only read about 30 threads so far, most of those were appearance ones. I read some of the FI stuff, seems like most people argue a lot about sc / turbo, so i'll have to research more. If i was going to do an intake i'd probably just make my own. No reason to spend 300 on some fwi when you can just do it with PVC.

Whats the Hfc's? Do you guys use HP tuners or something for your car? or do you all get tuned by shops? I'm used to tuning the grand prix, but i'm sure i could pick up quick on these.

Sorry to ask 100 questions, but at least i'm keeping it all in one mushed up thread. HAHA. I'll probably just start with taking the intake off, porting it out myself, making an intake, finding headers, and then making a custom exhaust (with borla pro's and big pipe) i'll do SC later down the road.

Yeah, I got my G back in July. It's an 03 Brilliant Silver coupe. No bags, just intake + ztube + nismo exhaust, tints, blacked out grill and rear valance, a JL Audio 12 and OEM iPod interface. It's my daily so I am not going too crazy with it!

The Rev Ups have more HP - they also have a recall for oil consumption.

HFC = high flow cat

Fi stands for fast intentions, they are a reliable brand that alot of people can say good about. But dont make your own intake it will only hurt u. If u dont feel like spending the money on a intake, u buy the stillen intake tube, 06 air box, and k&n filter. Thats about the best setup u can get and only costs 100 bucks. Our intake is already awsome on our cars. Rev ups are different motors 05 and up 6mt.03 and 04 are non rev up. The rev up has like 12 more hp but the non rev up has like 6 more tq. But motordyne makes a lower plenum called and the mrev2 and they make a plenum spacer which gives u like 10+ hp to the wheels. Hopefully i clarified everything all the names i said are not abrieviated so hopefully u understand now.

cook thanks. did they fix the oil consumption? was it an internal problem or a pcv issue? That sounds like a big thing to fix.

I'll probably just put a 94009 cat on the G like i did on my grand prix, not that it will make a huge difference. I'm all about doing things myself. I bought everything on my grand prix used, or made it myself. Do they put intake rizers or bigger runners in these? Intakes aren't hard to make, you just keep them simple with little bends. But i'll see what the prices are, if they are decent i might buy one.

Thanks for the advice, it will help me narrow down what i'm looking for when buying. How do you know if it's a revup. just look for a 6mt?

You can get a used vortech supercharger for about 2-3k I believe. New ones go for about 5k.

i think you'r talking about 03-05 tail lights. Circle backup lights.

06+ have rectangle backup lights.

All of em have bunch of LED brake lights.
