I ordered mine from grubbs, just search on the part number and you should find it also with the grubbs discount code it comes to $15 or something plus shipping if i remeber correctly. I did it my self the only pain in the **** is getting the stock cover off to install the new escucheon (sp). I ordered my extra remote from ebay, its was brand new for $20 and came with great directions for prgraming it.
Also if you have the esm it hase some more detailed directions for removing the stock cover, it does pop off but requires a good ammount of force.

you shouldnt have difficulty in removing the cover. just get a small flathead screwdriver under the tab. the replacement part sits on a metal retainer. you can practice taking it off with the replacement part prior to install.

 

The price from grubbs online is 17.80. 5% discount code makes it 16.91. Am I missing something here that will make it 15 dollars?

only thing is that when i put in the part # for DG, this is the description "Door - Lock and hardware - Escutcheon - Paint to Match Silver Right 2003 - 2004"

I typed in part # DG - 82646-AM817. When I type in BS - 82646-AM810 just to see if it would show silver, it said it couldn't find it. I just want to make sure i'm getting the right one before I order.

 

Surprisingly, my dealer gave it to me for free. They asked me why I wanted a handle cap, thought mine fell off or something. When I told them I was putting the passenger one on the driver's side, to deter would be theives from trying to roll my windows down, they said they'd give it to me for free.

I thought they meant, they'd install it for me while they fixed my Navi a few weeks later. Well they didn't. So I ordered the handle cap. And to my surprise when I came by to pick it up, they didn't charge me for it.

 

I think all of these part #'s are wrong!! I called my dealership to order one and supposedly it doesnt match my color code. We'll see when it comes in. Maybe he just doesnt knwo what he's doing. He already ordered the wrong side!! Ill find out in a couple of days.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but if it's only a cap/cover, wouldn't you able to simply pop it off in case of an emergancy, to gain access to the key-hole? This would add a little peace of mind to those like me. Just can't see doing a mod that could potentially lock me out of my car, and make my nifty wallet key virtually useless.

 

to remove the cap you need the door to be open. In an emergency, you could force it off but you risk scratching the door.
