New Toyota Supra

I know this is a G35 forum, but I have a question on a toyota. haha. I was talking with my co worker the other day and he told me toyota is coming out with a new supra with over 300hp and they're getting rid of the celica cause of that. Is it true? Does anyone know where to find pics or know any specs and pricing?

Re: New Toyota Supra

heard about it but not soon, plus why would they get rid of the celica its not even going to be close to the price range of the supra they always had the celica when the supra was out. I don't think your co worker knows what hes talking about.

Re: New Toyota Supra

Yeah, I was wondering about that with the celica part. It's not in the same price range or class.

Re: New Toyota Supra

you guys go it backwards no more supra per toyota motors they will not get into a horsepower war with any of the other car makers. at least that was the last i heard about march of this year. they are building towards the scion brand where they are producing a car that will rival their celica model. this was all over the boards back around january - march.

Re: New Toyota Supra

Toyota needs a RWD sports car. Their cars are soooooo boring; they are appliances. At a recent auto show, they unveiled a hybrid called the Volta that was styled by an Italian firm -- Italdesign I think. It looked good! That may be the next 'Supra'.

Re: New Toyota Supra

go to motortrend.com future vehicles. it says they're redesigning the celica and is300. is300 will offer a new coupe model and optional v8 engine. no word of supra or 3000gt yet.

The MR2 is rear wheel drive, but I know it doesn't really compare and too small for me and I am 4'11". =)

Re: New Toyota Supra

I heard this should probably be in the "Off Topic" section since it has nothing to do with a G35 Coupe...

Re: New Toyota Supra

I'd expect to see an IS430 coupe come out before a new Supra. Consider that Toyota already has way too many models in it's lineup and that Infiniti is gaining big time on the Lexus's market share.

The SC430 is overstyled, underpriced and underperforms. Lets face it, it's a ladies car. If anyone needs to have a more competitive sports coupe it's Lexus. Yeah, Toyota is kinda bland right now, but it doesn't seem to be affecting its sales.

I believe it is called the scion Tc.

Nice looking car, and starts at $16,5.

Re: New Toyota Supra

I would say that, toyota doesn't release any sort of info on the Supra until a few days or weeks before it comes out, so stop whining. Toyota likes to play it in more of a surprise.
