Noob Quest

I purchased a G35 Coupe last year and I am very interested in doing much of the maintenace and light mechanical work myself. My previous car was a BMW 528i & that costed me an arm & a leg as far as repairs go. I would like to start off fresh with a new car & would like to know if there is like a recommendation list somewhere on this site as far as parts and services go? I see that K&N filters are highly recommended over the OEM's for example. I'm not a tuner or anything but would greatly appreciate knowing these things. I'm saddened to admit that I have yet to do the 60k mile service on G since it cost $1500 at my local Infiniti dealership.

PS: Yes, I'm a noob & searching takes too long by the way if you wanna be a smart-azz about it.

I paid like $450 for my 60k service, $1500 is ridiculous.

Do you have specific maintenance questions? Check out the tech area, and yes, search. I'm sure all basic maintenance topics you're interested in have been covered numerous times on this forum.

Never go to the dealership, unless you are under factory warranty! Find a local shop that is well known to do your maintenance.

Twilight Blue!!!

Get a Z-Tube & drop-in K&N (or $5 Wix filter at Napa).

Check out the prices at your local NISSAN dealership for any maintenance that you do not want to do yourself.

For oil changes, get a set of Rhino ramps at Autozone.
Filter is very ez to get to.

Twilight Blue!!!
