Damn, i wasted 30 bucks

I got those overlays for my taillights and turnsignals. the turnsignals went on with ease. I couldnt get the taillights to work. I tried centering it 4 or 5 times b4 i got the right fit. I wanted to take my time and do it right. Anyhow, i begun to force the water bubbles out with a squeegie. I was left with way too many water bubbles. grrrr! the fitment was good but the bubbles are not pretty. I kept working on it for about an hour per side. I used a needle to get most of them out. To make a long story short... the job ended up being an 8-footer. Looked great from beyond 8 feet anything closer it looked like ****. I finallly gave up and riped it off and threw it in the garbage.... i knew i wasnt going to get them all out and there were some tiny wrinkles. I used a hairdryer but i couldnt get it right. well at least my turnsignals look good.

I hope you used liquid detergent with the water.

Re: Damn, i wasted 30 bucks

Use plastic card, like credit card or hotel key covered with tissue or paper towel when you work the bubble out. I don't have any problem to install it. I hope it helps.

Yeah, the credit card thing works real well in getting those bubbles out.

BTW, you guys DO know that much like tint, vinyl is porus. Whatever water (bubbles) are still there after the install will evaporate and go away within a few hours or day depending on how hot it is outside. my .02

Damm ducati, that sucks :/ ... Randy is almost 100% positive, cant say for everyone's tint but most of the time it does go away. Frustration is a bitc!, I know. Order another and take your time, its only 30$. It will look good, Martin

Re: Damn, i wasted 30 bucks

Hmm.. when I got my clear bra put on there were some small bubbles. The installer told me that within a day or two they would evaporate. He told me to park it in the sun. The bubbles all went away and the clear bra looked great. I wonder if you should have waited? I know it's frustrating but it's only 30 bucks. Maybe you should give it another try?
