5 Weeks, To The Day, I Finally Got The Call...

It's been an agonizing 5 weeks for me lately. My "Body Shop" left me a message that my "G" will be ready for pickup tomorrow, Friday, at 5pm. Well that's just great! It couldn't be at 8am, so I could take a day off to pick it up. Now, I'm looking at Monday at the soonest.
Here's the deal. I'm convinced, that I'm going to find some kind of repair made, that doesn't meet my specs.
1) I couldn't open the hood, at all, when I turned the G in.
2) My trunk wouldn't close without slamming the crap out of it.
3} My exhaust "tips" were unequal, and bent out of shape.
4) I'm afraid the "lines" won't line up on my hood and fenders.
5) I'm afraid the paint won't match with the rest of the car.
6) I'm afraid of the "hidden" damage, that is still hiding, that the body shop decided to let go.
7) I'm afraid that I will have "holes" drilled into my new front bumper, for the front license plate, that I didn't have before.
If any, or all of these apply, that just means the G will kept longer.
The "integrity" of my G will never be the same, and I realize that. Thankfully she is a lease, and I will most certainly turn her in in another 2 1/2 years.
Thanks to stupid people, I have to go through this whole ordeal. Can anyone suggest any creative advice, when I go to pick up my G on Monday??? Is there anything else I should be aware of???
Even though I'm in a Volvo S40 rental, I have noticed that I "blend" with other commuter's, and don't get the confrontations, and the stares, that I am used to in the G. Damn, I even forget what's it's like to drive a G because it's been so long.
Thanks for your time. It looks like I'll be cruising again next week, hopefully!!!

Still Sad In Diamond Bar, Mooser.

Man, that's been a while since the accident. If it's been 5 weeks already, then another day or 2 won't matter, so don't fret about that.
When you pick her up, make sure you've got lots of time to inspect everything and write it all down.

Sounds like you'll be g'ing merrily on your way b4 you know it, and you'll be soon.
Congrats, and good luck on Monday.

Hopefully it'll be as good as new. I'm still waiting for my "call". I dropped her off on June 2nd, was supposed to be done June 19th....pushed back to June 23, and have yet to get the "call". And like you said, I will probably find something not to my satisfaction(I hope not). I just want the car back the same way it was before that @#$@# hit me. Good luck Mooser, see you at work

Re: 5 Weeks, To The Day, I Finally Got The Call...

Bad news, my friend. As you know, my body shop "cried wolf." After the lady told me that my G would be ready today, she took back her promise. "We're still waiting on a rear bumper part to complete the repair, and it hasn't come in yet from the dealer."
I swear, I think it's a conspiracy between the body shop and the rental car company just to rake in a few extra $$$. I wish, now, to have rented a Viper or some kind of Porsche.
LOL, Daniel_G, I still think you'll get your G back before me. I really think I could have built a G35 Coupe myself from scratch, from the tires up, in all of the time my body shop has had my G. It's all about $$$, and we're all paying for it, here in California, in some way shape or form.

Bartender, another round please!
All is not lost, I still have my Reebok's!

Mooser.......
I know its been hard for you to go that long with out the G, and I know its hard to be optimistic about the outcome, but give the body shop the benefit of the doubt......they may surprise you.

I know if I was in your shoes, I would be pacing at this point to get my ride back. But if they need a few extra days to complete the job, its worth it.....

why don't you go down there and look the car over? Since its not complete, you can judge the rest of the work and maybe get a head start on the re-repairs if there are any.

just my .02, I hope for you all goes well......and when you pick it up you can forget about this whole ordeal and get on with you life and enjoy the time left on your lease....
