303 damaged HVAC display ???

I was cleaning my G's interior this afternoon using the 303 Aerospace protectant.
After wiping out the solution with a dry cloth, I noticed these stains on the HVAC display.
I initially thought that it's just some of the solution that got dried out before I got to wipe it out,
but to my horror I found out they cannot be removed !!!
I tried 303 again, plain water, Windex, even some 50% alcohol mixed with water, but nothing ! they just won't come off.
At this point I think that maybe some of the solution somehow dripped on the inside of the display and I'm just
"scrubbing" the wrong side, but judging from they way it looks I think it's on the outside after all.
This is not the first time I use the product but the first time I see something like that.
Has anyone used 303 before? any experience with the product?
I'm starting to think these stains won't come out and I'll have to shell some serious $$$ on that display.... Does anyone have any idea of what to do???

Take a look at the Meguiars or Novus plastic polishes and cleaners. They take scratches out of plastic watch crystals, plastic convertible top windows etc. You should be able to find them at your local auto parts store or discount store with the waxes and cleaners.

Thanks for all your inputs. I really appreciate it.
Does anyone have the service manual and can tell me the part number for this thing? I might end up replacing it all together at this point.

Thanks again.

You could try here.

Just FYI, the part numbers are not listed in the service manual.

Re: 303 damaged HVAC display ???

okay, mine came with a thin layer of plastic protectant over the bose radio display, the clock, and the instrument pannel, per shipping.

See if they just didn't prep your car right. Mine was hard to see but ment to be removed!

Thanks Dave.

WRAH,
When I picked up my car, the only part that had that plastic protectant was the NAV display and that had to be removed in order for the display to be closed.

Thanks guys.

Speedoholic, I just realized your outside temp is 83 F. That's interesting.

Why is that interesting?

Re: 303 damaged HVAC display ???

just curious....

maybe this was like this BEFORE you cleaned (defective?)

if it leaks moisture thru the lense/surface, id say you might have a case for replacement.......

Not a chance, I would have noticed it immediately.

well, if it leaks (or gets moisture buildup behind it), its possibly defective....... (IMO)
