ASAP...Clear Turn Signals
I will be taking aparty my headlights tomorrow and was wondering if anyone can give me tips on how to go about taking out the orange turn signal....What are the various ways people have gone about it. I am thinking about inserting a plastic piece from a drop-ceiling light or just leaving it with the bulb showing, (and change the bulb to orange to stay legal)
any info and advice is greatly appreciated

yea i want that too hehe
isnt there just an orange plastic piece there that i guess you can take off if you bake the housing the open it up..? i dont really know, i'm just speculating.
hey malx, if you're around and reading this, didnt you take off the orange when you painted the inside of your headlight housing black?

Hey guys, I didn't heare a "please"..........j/k
I expect dinner for this!
If you are planning on baking the lights, make sure you remove the HID ballasts mounted under the headlights. I didn't bother w/ baking and just went ahead w/ a heat gun instead. Once the sealant is softened, it will be pretty easy to pull the housing apart..........better to have another person help you.
The orange piece is actually integrated into the piece it's attached to. You will need to dremel this, but make sure you have steady hands as you get close to the edge. Once you're done there, you're going to have to repaint that whole piece as I've done to a graphite color to match the housing. Before you paint over that piece, I highly recommend you sand that piece down until the orange shows on the whole piece...............next you'll paint. Once it dries, put the pieces back and clean the housing by using an air hose.
Put sealant along the cracks of the housing and put the two halfs back and you're done.........(there are 3 screws holding the 2 pcs together).
If you guys think it's too much work or too risky, I am selling my set headlights.........of course in exchange for a comparable set..........I even have the headlight protection film on it - $75 value. PM for price.
Good luck guys!
