Re: OMG...so pissed off
how old is your brother?
if he has a car of his own... then what that looks like is when someone is trying to clean floormats on a car and they are moving back and forth... the stiff rubber spikes on the back create those scratches.
how i know..... cause my dad did that once to my car. AND BEST PLACE to put a floormat while to clean it .... is on a flat surface of the hood so it can be done easily.
other possibility ... could have been a fallen branch with leafs...that wasnt heavy ... but the lil sticks caused scratches.
but i bet it was your brother that did it.

I think if you get that rubbing compound used in body shops it will take care of it. My friend who used to be a body shop owner years ago, took a very fine sand paper (like 2000 or something) and sand the back bumper of my G where I had a scratch. I had to bite my lip not to beat him senseless when I saw the white spot that the sandpaper left with little tiny scratches. Then he took that compound and rubbed it all over the spot with a towel. 1 minute later, the bumper looked like nothing had happened to it. Awesome thing!!!

Damm man, I feel bad for ya also!! 1) A truck didn't do this or any car didn't, too many little fine scratches with no body damage. 2) It was not intentional with a key or anything like that and 3) maybe someone was carrying something and then leaned it on ur car cause it was too heavy, or a streetweeper could be a number of things and what's sad is you'll prob never find out. Now that's annoying!! THey look like fine little swirl scratches that can prob be buffed out easily, but if they are also on your clear bra then it scratched the bra up. Good luck with it!!

Re: OMG...so pissed off
okay, well here is my guess for what it was. I had no idea, but my mom hired tree cutters to cut the dead branches off the palm trees. Since my car was parked on the street, maybe they dropped a branch on my car and dragged it across my hood. I dunno...either way, my brother is dumb for parking my car in the street in the first place. I went to my bodyshop and they said they might be able to buff the scratches out since they arent too deep into the paint. Hopefully all the scratches will be gone or else i have to get it painted.... But i dont know what to do about the clear bra. Does anyone know what exactly is covered in the 3 year warranty for the clear bra?

that would explain it. do you normally park in the garage? why the hell did your brother park you car in the streets? and especially since the landscapers were coming, he should have known better to park it elswhere. i would be so pissed. i have to say, you're more understanding then me : )

Re: OMG...so pissed off
Ths is why you never ever leave the keys with anyone!
Family included!
It looks like bushes scratched the hood maybe?
Is it possible they took it for a quick ride by the park...went hella fast...tried to drift or slam on the brakes maybe twirled the car around gravel?
maybe a cat got on top of the car?
hmmmmm just report the damage to your insurance company...key it up if you have to...
good luck man..
here i am complaing about a rock chip on my IP coupe.
that looks so minor now.

Re: OMG...so pissed off
man that sucks.. you have the same color as me too.
looks like someone took some 60 grit sandpaper and decided to brush it against your car.
I think they can be buffed out. if it's not that deep, you can use meguiers medium cut, fine cut, then the swirl remover. Then finish off with polish then wax.

Re: OMG...so pissed off
hopefully it can be buffed out. The only problem is that the clear bra has scratches all over it too and it cant be buffed. also the place between the grille and the hood where the clear bra doesnt cover. I dont see how they can buff that area without messing the clear bra up...
