Good, moderatly priced short throw shifter

I'm pretty new to this forum, so i apologize if this is posted in the wrong place.

I got my 2006 DG 6MT Coupe about two months ago. Just got my tax refund, and i was looking at spending some of it on a short throw shifter. Anyone have any suggestions on a good brand/where to look/what a decient price for a good one?

I also looked on ebay at some, and saw a bunch for like $30ish. Anyone have any experience with these extremely cheap parts off of ebay? I'm kind of assuming its one of those "you get what you pay for" situations, but if anyone has had any good experience with stuff of that nature i might consider giving it a shot.

Thanks for the help.

Seeing how we dont have a linkage to the syncros and our gear box just goes directly into the syncros its more likly youll cause a major problem if you use a cheap part. I would get a good quality shifter and if you dont have the funds at the moment id just wait and save up.

The Rogue Short Shifter is a very good one. You know it will make the throws shorter, but also slightly harder right?

Go with Rogue. It is amazing. They have two types. A race one and a street. The street is what people use. Good luck finding one though. I dont beleive that Rogue is making them any more. I found my here on the board.

I hear fidanza makes one for our car and its prety good. Take a look, it was reasonably priced at $100 instead of 2 bills.

Ya i've driven a friends car with a short shifter in it. Good looking out though.

Thanks for the help guys, i'll see if i can get lucky enough to find the Rogue one, and if not, the fidanza one for $100 sounds like a good buy

Short throw shifters are not worth it in my opinion... I had the Rogue. I ended up replacing my transmission due to 2nd/5th gear syncrhos being gone. A short throw shifter with these cars doesn't shorten the shift enough and it adds a TON of notchiness to it. STOCK is best. Did I just say that???

did you just say that? never heard of short shifters causing this problem. the main culprit is usually...the driver..

There's two types of short shifters... If you get one that shortens the shifter itself, the shifts won't be shorter than if you lengthened the bottom... Of course both would be more ideal...

I don't think the Rogue is in production anymore...

I've been looking at the nismo short shifter because it's adjustable, and Nismo at the same time. Only problem is that they are hard to find because they are discontinued. Look into the piece, and let me know if you find someone still selling them, I'm interested also. Let us know what you get and how you like it, SSK is one of my upcoming mods too!

There is no point in adjustable. Since the shifter on these cars vibrate, the extra metal piece sound like it would be annoying as hell.

If you have short reach and like the shifter higher, then get one that extends the bottom without shortening the shifter itself. If you have long arms and can move fast enough where not every inch counts, then a shortened shifter that's extended underneath would be best.

But if you got a short shifter with only a shortened shifter, then you fail.
