I am relaxed..... just busting *****. lol...... I saw that you listed what you have driven and the comment wasnt directed towards you, it was towards anyone in the thread. I wasnt even talking about older ferrraris. My dads client has a 430 and it seems to really not be all that great when driving normally.
as for the schumacher comment...... Hes in an F1 cars..... theres a bit of a difference. But hell also get in a manual and drive it dam good.
I just hate the rich herbs who drive paddle ferrari's and the reason for getting them is because its "way faster" when in reality they just can drive a normal manual.
Ill be so mad if a traditional manual starts to become obsolete.

I just think paddles have their merits, but obviously at the huge cost of fun factor. But relegating them to vaginal status is a bit much.
To your last comment: NEVARRRRR! If 6MTs go by the wayside for fancy systems, I will revolt.

I think there should be a seperate Driving license class. Say you pay $125 and take a much more rigorous test. That License allows you to drive Sports Cars. It can be done on a number of parameters that way something fast like a Cayenne Turbo is included but a Miata isn't. And the final benefit is that you would need this license to drive on the left lane on expressway and you're permitted to go up to 20mph over the posted limit as your license proves you are indeed a very competent driver. That way, 19 yr trust fund millionaire has to learn to drive before he starts ordering Ferrari's and Aston Martins left and right.

The paddle may be faster but i dont think it has the fun factor as you said of a traditional 6sp. I just feel like companies are trying to push people towards paddle. For example, the new EVO X, you can only get the MR in paddle. And you can only get the regular GSR in a 5sp. Wheres the 6sp at? Thats one of the reasons i feel like there trying to phase out the manual.

manuals fun as hell when the road is almost empty in front of you.
you have a buddy driving with you in a different car that is also manual then it gets more fun...

Nah most paddle shifts still can't compare with a true manual, unless of course if it is a dual clutch system or has rev matching downshifts. Most cars just have the paddles for show as its the same exact thing as the tiptronic they have by the shifter (which is slower than leaving it in auto by the way.
I test drove an automatic g37 and I swear it felt much slower than my 6mt g35. I'm sure it really wasn't but it was so unresponsive and boring... even in manual mode.

EDIT: I don't want to seem like I'm all over the G37 but I've had the pleasure of using the 7 Speed Automatic in 4 different vehicles (2009 G37 Coupe, G37 Sedan, 2009 FX35, 2009 M35) and I have seen the light. I am that Transmission's Pastor! being able to do 75mph @ 2200rpm is mindblowing and the mpg that it can do is beyond what is possible in the 6MT. Not to mention that gears 1-4 are tighter then on the 6MT so accelration for a slushbox is great. Like I said, I've driven plenty of MT cars and I love them. But that new 7AT transmission has blown me away.

all my other cars were auto, MX6, G20. I said there's no way in hell Im getting a sports car with an auto tranny, Bought mine used with a racing clutch and pressure plate, made it harder to learn but having a background driving motorcycles for years it made it easier to learn clutch control, I love it when Im merging on the interstate in 3rd gear and blow by any car trying to get into my merging spot.

Was it the 2009 G37?? that has downshift rev matching with it's 7 Speed Automatic.

But there is also the fun factor, and nothing beats the stick and pedal

As sad as this is for me to say, I think I would enjoy 6MT in NYC more then in SoCal, you guys have Traffic ALL THE TIME!!! NYC only has traffic during rush hour so it's worse during that time but outside of rush hour, NYC is a great place to drive on highways with a 6MT.
